Britney Spears' life is 'back on track' as she reconciles with sons Sean and Jayden after years of estrangement

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears has seemingly reconciled with her two teenage sons - Sean Preston, 18 and Jayden Federline, 17. 

Insiders close to the family have recently revealed that Spears is back to being their mother again after her two boys started speaking to the ‘Toxic’ singer earlier this year. 

The source further shared that the Grammy-winning songstress has even visited her two sons in Hawaii, where they live with their father, Kevin Federline.

Britney Spears has reconciled with her two sons

After years of estrangement, the mother and the sons are seemingly back on speaking terms. The speculation of their reconciliation rose when the ‘Baby One More Time’ singer posted a picture of her brother Bryan Spears’ picture from their vacation on June 15. 

Uploading the pictures of Bryan, 47, the pop princess wrote, “Looking pretty dapper 👌🏼👌🏼 !!! I sent it to my kids and I think they got jealous because they said “that’s a filter … that’s not real” 😂 !!!” hinting that she is back on talking terms with her children. 

Now, sources close to the family have shared with Daily Mail that it was Bryan who facilitated the reconciliation. 

They shared that the Spears’ two sons are “fully back on track” in their relationship with their mother, saying, “Britney has been speaking to, and working on, her relationship with Sean Preston and Jayden for months now.”

The source added, “The boys have so much love for their mother, as she does for them. Things are fully back on track and they are looking forward to the future together.”

The source noted that Britney’s brother, who is close to his nephews, played an important role in bringing them together. 

The source added, “Bryan was instrumental in facilitating their reunion,” and noted, “He cares so much for Britney and about his nephews.”

“She wanted to keep this quiet because she didn't want it to jeopardize their chances of reconciliation, but she's actually been back to being their mom again since February,” revealed the source regarding the timeline of their reconciliation.

Spears’s two sons relocated to Hawaii in August 2023 with their father Kevin. 

Along with his two sons, Kevin, who was married to the ‘Oops…I Did It Again’ singer from 2004 to 2007, relocated his entire family including his wife of ten years Victoria Prince, and their daughters Jordan, 12, and Payton, nine, to Hawaii. 

The source added that the ‘Circus’ singer had visited the boys several times this year and arranged to meet them in California. 

The source continued, “She has gone to Hawaii to see them and they have come to her house to spend time with her.”

Britney’s reconciliation with her sons comes two years after it was revealed in 2022 that her relationship with her sons deteriorated. 

Just a few weeks before she was placed under legal conservatorship in early 2008, Federline got the complete physical and legal custody of the boys. Throughout her conservatorship, she maintained a warm relationship with herr sons. 

However, in 2022, news came out that the relationship between Spears and her sons deteriorated with the pair remaining conspicuously absent from her wedding with now ex-Sam Asghari. 

In an interview with ITV, Federline, 46, said, “The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now,” and added, “It's been a few months since they've seen her.”

Jayden too shared that it wasn't a “good time to go” to his mother's wedding, adding, “I’m really happy for them, but she didn’t invite the whole family and then if it was just going to be me and Preston, I just don’t see how that situation would have ended on good terms.”

Jayden, however, shared there was “no hate” between them but noted, “it will take a lot of time and effort’ to repair their fractured relationship.”

He added, “I 100 per cent think this can be fixed. It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort,” before claiming, “I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better I really want to see her again.”

In the meantime, Spears has sparked concerns among her fans regarding her Instagram posts where she filmed herself dancing with knives and uploading nude images of herself among others. 

It should also be noted that during the boys’ growing up years, Federline was receiving a hefty sum of money from the ‘Criminal’ singer as child support. 

While the child support amount for Preston is presumed to have ended last year after he turned 18, Jayden’s is expected to end in September 2024, when he turns 18. However, per TMZ, Jayden’s child support will continue till 2025, until he graduates high school.

Britney Spears fans are doubtful about the alleged reconciliation 

While the fans are happy about the reconciliation, they also show their reservation enforcing the authenticity of the emotions involved in this. Several fans put forward their reservation that the soon-to-be ceasing child support might have something to do with the reconciliation.

One of the readers commented, "I am happy for her, but these boys are becoming older. Soon she will no longer have to legally support them so it is in their best interests to keep those dollars flowing. I don't trust their intentions as to why now. To me it is obvious and I wish it wasn't the case."

Someone else chimed in, "So, just when Britney has stopped child support payments for her 18 yr old and just before she's about to stop having to pay child support for her 17 yr old who's about to turn 18 they reconcile with her? Side eye. The timing is completely suspect. She's getting used and played by them and it's sad. Would be nice if it were genuine on their behalf, but I just don't believe it is."

"Only because the money train will be stopping since she won’t have to pay child support anymore now that they’re older. Now the only way to get mommy’s money is to be nice to her. I’m sure Kevin put them up to this because those boys were super vocal about not wanting anything to do with her," another fan shared their doubts. 

"Hmm her sons reconcile with her just as she needs to stop paying child support? Guessing that they are looking for an easy life now after rejecting her for years," said another fan.

Someone esle said, "I don't think their relationship is repairable at this point; she, and probably they, need intensive therapy before that can happen. Also, with a deadbeat father and their ages approaching adulthood, which means child support will stop shortly, I find the timing of this 'reconciliation' suspicious to say the least."

"I hope everything works out well for them. Just hope they're not using her for money as the child support payments come to an end. Good luck," said another fan.
