Brooklyn Beckham vows to 'always protect' Nicola Peltz in anniversary tribute amid family feud
BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Brooklyn Peltz Beckham celebrated his wedding anniversary with wife Nicola Peltz Beckham by sharing a heartfelt tribute on social media, once again highlighting the strength of their relationship.
The anniversary tribute comes a year after the couple renewed their vows and follows Brooklyn's public statements about his family rift, while David and Victoria have largely declined to discuss the feud.
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham celebrates Nicola and reflects on their renewed vows
Brooklyn shared an emotional Instagram post on August 4 alongside a photo of the couple posing in lounge clothes while holding wine glasses. "Happy anniversary Nicola," he wrote, adding, "I can't tell you how much I love you. You are my best friend and I love you more than life itself. I am so lucky to be able to call you my wife."
Calling Nicola his "absolute princess," he added, "I promise to always protect you." The post follows the couple's vow renewal last August, which Brooklyn previously said was meant to replace difficult memories surrounding their original wedding celebrations.
"We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment," he shared at the time, "My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we've tried to come together as one."
Brooklyn has repeatedly made it clear that Nicola is his top priority, even publicly addressing his family's longstanding feud for the first time in January. "I have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private," he wrote in an Instagram statement.
He further said, "Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding," and added, "It hasn't stopped."
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham reunites with Elton John as David and Victoria respond
Amid the family tensions, Brooklyn recently reunited with his godfather, Elton John, and the singer's husband, David Furnish, during a vacation in the South of France. Photos showed the couple spending time aboard John's yacht near Nice on July 29.
John, who is godfather to both him and his brother Romeo Beckham, was seen with Furnish during the outing, while Brooklyn and Nicola were photographed holding hands as they exited the yacht. The family rift has remained in the spotlight over the past year.
Victoria's 50th birthday celebration on April 20, 2024, was attended by Tom Cruise and all four Spice Girls except daughter-in-law Nicola. Nicola later explained on Instagram that she had been spending time with her grandmother.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal published in April 2025, Victoria said, "I think that we've always—we love our children so much. We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be, and you know, we've been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we've ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that's all I really want to say about it."
David also declined to comment while speaking with Variety in June about the "vicious" coverage surrounding the family's "strife." He further said, "To be honest, I'm sorry to stop you there, but that's a private matter. That's the one thing that I don't want to talk about."
