OREM, UTAH: The man accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk allegedly left bizarre inscriptions etched into bullet casings before opening fire at a university event in Utah.

Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested after a 33-hour manhunt and booked into the Utah County Jail, igniting a partisan clash as debates intensified over his ideology.

Officials shared new details about the bullets recovered at the scene, which could shed light on Robinson’s motive.

At a Friday press conference, Utah Governor Spencer Cox said one casing fired at Kirk bore the phrase, “notices, bulges, OwO, what’s this?”

Other inscriptions on unspent casings included “Hey fascist, catch” along with an up arrow, right arrow, and three down arrows. “I think that speaks for itself,” Cox said when asked about motive.

Another casing reportedly carried the phrase “O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao ciao,” which investigators linked to an Italian anti-fascist folk song from World War II.

One more engraving read, “If you read this you are gay lmao,” according to Cox.

Tyler Robinson background and Discord activity under scrutiny

Authorities also disclosed that Robinson mentioned at a family dinner that Kirk was coming to Utah Valley University and expressed dislike for him.

Investigators said his roommate later showed them a Discord post linked to him, which read, “I need to retrieve a rifle from a drop point."

Cox further noted that a law enforcement bulletin early in the investigation incorrectly described the engravings as tied to “transgender ideology.”

He added there was no evidence suggesting other suspects were involved.

Internet reactions question engravings and Tyler Robinson ideology

The unusual messages sparked debate online about Robinson’s political leanings and possible influences.

“Is this what they meant by transgender ideology? It doesn’t sound like anything transgender! I’m a Christian but even I’ll be pissed if they caused trans people to believe one of them was involved when they were not,” one person wrote on X.

Others connected the arrows to video games, with one noting, “Why does he have to drag Helldivers 2 into this. That’s a call-in for a 500 kg bomb in the game.”

Another user wrote, “So strange. He looks conservative...

Political blame escalated quickly. “Every Democrat who has ever said that we are fascist needs to be arrested for radicalizing people,” one person wrote.

Another said, “The evidence against him is damning. The right is not going to let the left brand him as anything but a left-wing nut."

Debate over Robinson’s ideology continued, with users writing, “Ain’t no way Tyler was a conservative with those views and ideology,” and, “All the symbols refer to trans and antifa tropes."

Another comment read, "Definite right winger comrade."
