LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Charlize Theron wasn’t impressed with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s $50 million star-studded wedding in Venice and she didn’t hold back in taking a swipe at the newlyweds.
According to Page Six, the 'Mad Max' star criticized the Amazon founder and his new wife while hosting the fifth annual Block Party for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project on Saturday, June 28.

Charlize Theron didn’t mince words when it came to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s extravagant $50 million wedding.
While speaking at the fifth annual Block Party for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project on Saturday, June 28, on the Universal Studios backlot in Los Angeles and said, “I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding.”
She added sharply, “But that’s OK because they suck and we’re cool,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
During her speech, Theron thanked her guests for showing up “especially when the world feels like it’s burning, because it is.”

She addressed global crises and political issues, stating: “Here in Los Angeles, in the US, and across the globe, we’re moving backwards fast. Immigration policy has destroyed the lives of families, not criminals; women’s rights are becoming less and less every day; queer and trans lives are increasingly being erased; and gender-based violence is on the rise.”
“This isn’t just policy, it’s personal,” she continued, receiving applause from the crowd. She reportedly added, “Yeah, f*** them.”
In contrast, Bezos and Sanchez’s opulent wedding celebration included a long list of celebrity guests — Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Tom Brady, Orlando Bloom, Ivanka Trump, Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey, Usher, Sydney Sweeney, and more.

The three-day affair featured a welcome party, a late-night pajama-themed bash, and a formal ceremony on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, with performances by Matteo Bocelli and Ellie Goulding, as reported by the outlet.
Jeff Bezos faces backlash in Venice as protesters demand higher taxes and social accountability
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s extravagant wedding was met with backlash from protesters in Venice, who called on the Amazon founder to pay more taxes.
International environmental group Greenpeace staged a demonstration in St Mark’s Square before the wedding, unveiling a massive banner featuring a laughing image of Bezos with the message: “If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax.”

The organization also posted a video of the protest on Instagram, writing in the caption: “Jeff Bezos pays his staff poverty wages and dodges taxes. No wonder he can afford to shut down half of Venice for his wedding this week.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the protest group 'No Space for Bezos' also condemned the wedding in a statement to Page Six, saying, “We reject the exploitative logic that sees the city as a commodity.”

The spokesperson added, “What worries us even more is a mayor who prefers selling Venice rather than addressing the real problems its residents face—rising living costs, housing prices, and the depopulation of the historic center.”
However, Page Six also reported that Bezos and Sanchez had quietly donated to local Venetian charities months before their June wedding.
