Cher gives icy look to Jimmy Kimmel after getting fed up with his questions: ‘This is so dumb’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cher did not seemingly enjoy her time on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ as she made her appearance on the show on Tuesday evening, January 7.
The 78-year-old actress reportedly came on Jimmy Kimmel’s show for the first time in its 22 years of runtime as reported by The Daily Beast.
The publication also reported that Cher ultimately had to tell the late-night host that “this is so dumb” towards the end of the interview.
Cher reveals on Jimmy Kimmel she has not begun writing second part of memoir
Her remarks came after the TV host questioned her about the future of the second part of her memoir — ‘Cher: The Memoir’, which is slated to release in November 2025.
Kimmel asked her, “The second part of your book, have you finished that yet?”
The ‘Burlesque’ star first replied with only a laugh, before saying, “No, I haven’t even started it!”
The 57-year-old comedian could not hold back his shock as he questioned, “Is that true?”
In response, Cher gave a cold look. But Kimmel did not stop as he said, “You haven’t even started it! So it’s not coming out in November.”
The ‘Moonstruck’ actress then firmly stated, “Yes, it is.” However, it was not enough for the producer as he quipped, “We’ll see.”
Cher calls Jimmy Kimmel’s questions ‘dumb’
Cher, however, did not appear very impressed by his comment. But Jimmy Kimmel again pushed by adding, “November of what year?” and also offered to “help” her. But she directly declined his offer.
During the interview, Kimmel challenged Cher with a rapid-fire question segment, and then segued into asking the mother-of-two, “If you could turn back time...,” referring to her 1989 hit ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’.
“This is so dumb,” Cher remarked referring to the line of questioning. However, Kimmel pressed on and asked, "What year would you turn it back to?" to which the legend replied, “I am dyslexic so I don't know the year, but I was 60.”
She also noted that she does not know why she chose 60 but “it seemed like a good number.”
Cher takes subtle dig at Jimmy Kimmel
Elsewhere during the interview the 'Goddess of Pop' even mentioned her former husband Sonny Bono.
She said, as per The Independent, “We were equal. That was… I mean, I loved it. We worked so well together, and it really kept us closer longer than I really wanted.”
At the end of the episode, when Kimmel told Cher that he hoped she would “come back in November—if, indeed, you get the book finished," Cher replied, “You’re a lot nicer and funnier than I thought you would be."
