Cher's family concerned over relationship with BF Alexander 'AE' Edwards as he's shown major 'red flags'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cher's family is reportedly worried about her ongoing romance with 38-year-old musician Alexander "AE" Edwards.
The 78-year-old icon has been dating Edwards for the past two years. However, sources close to the family suggest they are increasingly skeptical of the relationship's authenticity and his true intentions.
Cher's family doesn't believe Alexander 'AE' Edwards has her best interests in his mind
An insider claims that Cher's son, Chaz Bono, is particularly concerned with her apparent inability to see Alexander "AE" Edwards' "true intentions," especially given his pattern of showing "one red flag after another."
"Cher's family has given up on trying to convince her that Alexander does not have her best interests in mind," the source told Daily Mail.
They added, "She claimed that he was not after her money but now he is literally getting paid an enormous amount of money for this new album and she is giving him creative control of it."
The insider also alleged that Cher has begun taking steps to revise her will to include Edwards, a move that would ensure he benefits from her estate upon her death. While nothing has been finalized, this potential decision has left her family uneasy, with one source calling it a "huge red flag."
"She has not yet done this but is strongly considering it because she claims he is the love of her life. And, if her album is the last album she does it will undoubtedly be a massive success. When she passes, this gives AE all of the profits for it and he is set for life. Huge red flag," the source noted.
Cher's family was alarmed when she came to Alexander 'AE' Edwards' defense after his brawl with Travis Scott
During her promotional tour for her memoir, 'Cher, The Memoir: Part One', Cher revealed plans for new music. On 'The Tonight Show', she told Jimmy Fallon, "I’m about to," when asked about recording another album.
Cher seemingly chose to overlook AE's altercation with Travis Scott, which escalated into a physical fight following the 2024 amfAR Cannes Gala earlier this year.
After the incident, Cher took to Instagram, writing, "I'm proud of Alexander. He didn't start the fight against two men… He finished it, Gotta love him."
The insider revealed that Cher’s reaction to the situation alarmed her family, explaining, "Her family was extremely concerned after she defended him getting into this brawl with Travis Scott because she condoned his violence."
