Cher’s son Elijah goes missing, singer fears he will ‘spend funds on drugs’ and ‘put his life at risk’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cher is worried about her son Elijah Blue Allman, who she claims has gone missing amid his mental health and substance abuse issues.
The singer has filed a petition to become his temporary conservator, hoping to protect him from harming himself.
Cher wants to control Elijah Blue Allman's finances
The 77-year-old star said in the court documents filed in Los Angeles court that Elijah, 47, was not capable of managing his money and would “immediately spend” it on drugs if he got access to it.
“Such funds will be immediately spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself and putting his life at risk,” Cher stated, according to PageSix.
Elijah is the son of Cher and her late second husband, Gregg Allman, who died in 2017. He is also the half-brother of Cher’s transgender son, Chaz Bono, 54, from her first marriage to Sonny Bono.
Cher claims Elijah Blue Allman's wife Marieangela King will prevent her from hearing
Cher also claimed that Elijah’s wife, Marieangela King, whom he reconciled with recently, would try to take steps and prevent him from knowing about the conservatorship hearing scheduled for January 5.
Cher argued that having a temporary conservator would not harm Elijah’s finances, but rather safeguard them.

Cher filed to be Elijah’s sole conservator at the end of December, saying that he was unable to “form or express a preference” about the matter. She noted that Elijah makes $120,000 a year and receives regular distributions from a trust set up by his father.
Marieangela King calls Cher’s move ‘deeply disturbing’
King, 36, who has been married to Elijah for 10 years, has slammed Cher’s request as “deeply disturbing” and defended her ability to care for her husband.
“And despite a clear pattern of being habitually bulldozed over and repeatedly undermined, a pattern that has existed throughout her 10 year marriage, Ms King wholly rejects any inference that she is incapable of caring for her husband or making sound medical and/or financial decisions on his behalf,” a representative for the musician said in a statement.

Notably, Elijah opted to withdraw his divorce "without prejudice," amidist and his wife King conservatorship hearing.
The son of the renowned singer Cher is currently entangled in legal proceedings over his $10 million estate, grappling with challenges related to substance abuse.
