WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump lashed out at former Attorney General Bill Barr, calling him "gutless" and "lazy" nearly a week after getting his endorsement.

Barr, who served in the Trump administration from 2019 to 2020, resigned from his post over the ex-president's repeated claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

In a recent interview with Fox News, Barr declared he would vote for the Republican nominee in the upcoming election. "Given two bad choices, I think it's my duty to pick the person I think would do the least harm to the country, and in my mind … I will vote the Republican ticket," he said.

Trump secured the Republican nomination in March and will be formally announced as the party's presidential candidate at the Republican National Convention in July.

What did Trump say about Bill Barr's endorsement?

Trump did not sound forgiving to the former AG after his announcement that he would support the GOP nominee.

"Wow! Former AG Bill Barr, who let a lot of great people down by not investigating Voter Fraud in our Country, has just Endorsed me for President despite the fact that I called him "Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy" (New York Post!)," the White House hopeful wrote on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, April 24.

"Based on the fact that I greatly appreciate his wholehearted Endorsement, I am removing the word "Lethargic" from my statement. Thank you Bill. MAGA2024!" he added.

This indicates that the former president would continue to describe his former aide as "weak, slow moving, gutless, and lazy," according to Raw Story's David McAfee.

Trump's outrage against Barr stemmed from the latter's public refutal of the then-president's claims that the Democrats stole the 2020 election. In 2022, Barr testified to the House committee investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack that the ex-president's stolen election claims were "bogus," according to CNN.

However, some of his recent remarks imply his allegiance to Trump. For instance, in an April 20 interview with Fox News, he said the real threat to democracy was not the former president but the far left.

In addition, he also defended the White House hopeful in the ongoing hush money trial. Barr deemed the criminal trial as an "abomination" and accused the progressive left of "perverting the system of justice."

Internet slams Donald Trump

Outraged at Trump's mockery of Barr's endorsement, netizens criticized the ex-president.

One user wrote, "This is childish and cringy." Meanwhile, another remarked, "Please tell me this is not real, it sounds like a story a 3rd grader would write."

"Donald doesn't have one gracious bone in his wheezing carcass," a third user fumed. A fourth person asked, "Does it make you feel better to put people down all the time???"

Another added, "Treats his supporters that way, then wonders why more people don't trust him."

"Trump spent 4 years looking for the "millions of fraudulent votes" he claimed happened in 2016. Of course he blames Barr for not finding them, he's allergic to personal responsibility," someone else wrote.

An outraged individual asked, "Why would anyone work for this guy? Seriously, Biden sucks but this dude is a cancer in the GOP."
