David Beckham includes estranged son Brooklyn in Mother’s Day tribute to wife Victoria Beckham
HOLLAND PARK, CENTRAL LONDON: Former professional footballer David Beckham shared a heartfelt Mother’s Day tribute for wife Victoria Beckham, but the post also appeared to carry an emotional message amid his ongoing strained relationship with eldest son Brooklyn Beckham.
The family tensions have remained in the spotlight after Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz publicly distanced themselves from the family while making a series of accusations regarding controlling behavior and interference in their relationship.
David Beckham shares emotional post amid family feud
David Beckham’s latest public gesture came on Mother’s Day when he shared a black-and-white throwback photograph of Victoria Beckham during pregnancy.
Posting the image on Instagram Stories, he described her as “the best Mommy” while celebrating her role as a mother to their four children.
Victoria also acknowledged the gesture by sharing a photograph of the gifts she received from him, including white roses and casts of their children’s hands and feet, and captioned it, “I love you so much.”
Reports suggested the sentimental post reflected the family’s continued affection for Brooklyn despite the growing distance between them in recent months.
Earlier this year, Brooklyn publicly criticized his parents in a series of social media posts and reportedly showed no interest in reconciling with the family at the time.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,” Brooklyn said.

But I believe the truth always comes out,” the posts said.
Last year, younger brother Cruz also claimed on Instagram that Brooklyn had blocked several family members on social media. “I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he wrote, adding, “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
Victoria Beckham addresses parenting amid Brooklyn Beckham feud
The former Spice Girl addressed parenting and family relationships during the May 5 episode of the 'Aspire with Emma Grede' podcast, where she appeared to reference the ongoing tensions involving Brooklyn Beckham.
Reflecting on raising older children, Victoria Beckham said, “I think that it’s very different parenting adult children to parenting smaller children. I’m just trying to do the best that I can.”
Despite the public allegations surrounding the family, Victoria insisted that she and David have never pressured their children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, into following a particular path. “We don’t put any pressure on our kids, we just want them to do what they love and to work hard and to be happy,” she said.
She later added, “Being very close is really, really important to us.” Victoria also spoke about supporting Cruz’s music career, explaining that encouragement rather than pressure has always been her parenting approach. “It’s never about being pushy or forcing. It’s being there to support,” she said.
Victoria further reflected on the differences between her children’s upbringing and her own experience with David, saying, “I think that our children have had a very different upbringing to myself and David and I think the world is also a very different place now as to what it was when they were younger.”
Victoria added, “Ultimately, you know, we want the kids to be hard working, kind. I’ve always wanted to be the best mum that I could be and look after the kids, but I also feel that it’s been part of my job to really help them fulfil their full potential and for them to recognize what their sense of purpose is. It’s never about being pushy or forcing.”
