NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a recent segment of 'The Rachel Maddow Show,' Rachel Maddow delved into the pressing issue of whether former presidents should be immune from prosecution once they leave office.

Maddow discussed the potential consequences of the Supreme Court's ruling on this matter, highlighting the implications it could have for future presidents, particularly one as controversial as Donald Trump.

Maddow's warning of Trump's potential power grab sends shockwaves

Maddow elaborated, painting a stark picture of a scenario where Trump if voted out of office in 2028, could refuse to accept the election results and continue committing crimes to maintain power.

"When [the Supreme Court] inevitably rules that presidents aren't immune from prosecution after they leave office," Maddow remarked, "What that will tell Donald Trump if by then he is president, is that he can never leave the office of the presidency."

"If he is voted out in 2028," Maddow further warned, "he cannot leave office and he is welcome to commit any crimes he wants to, as long as he is still president, in order to ignore the result of that election and stay in power for life because otherwise he's gonna go to prison when he gets out."

Now, co-owner of Trending Politics, Collin Rugg took to Twitter, writing, "Far-left MSNBC host Rachel Maddow works herself into a panic and claims Donald Trump will remain in office for life if elected in 2024. I’m convinced MSNBC is actually just an insane asylum."

Maddow's remarks spark a social media firestorm

When Maddow made her remarks, viewers responded with a wave of negative reactions on social media platforms, expressing a range of discontent and disapproval.

One user came out in support of Rugg, writing, "Do these people actually believe the nonsense they spew, or is this all to rile up their base? If she believes it, she’s not well. If she doesn’t, but says it anyway, she’s traitorous and corrupt. Either way, what she’s doing is not journalism by any stretch of the imagination."

Another viewer voiced, "There’s a place, just for you, Rachel Maddow…," tagging a picture of a mental hospital.

"Maddow has been WRONG on [sic] every single position she’s taken. Everyone, there’s no exception," said another.

One more viewer observed, "The fake news corporate media is more of entertainment than news."

"Does Maddow have mental health issues?" asked another X user.

"Rachel Maddow's delusional fearmongering knows no bounds. Claiming Trump will be a perpetual president if re-elected is beyond absurd. MSNBC has truly become a haven for the unhinged," stated another.

Another user noted, "She’s one of the worst news reporters when it comes to spreading misinformation. Does she not realize how stupid this sounds? If they rule on this before Trump takes Office again the exact same thing could be said for Biden that he will never leave Office."
