LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Demi Moore, fresh off her Best Actress win at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards for her role in 'The Substance', has revealed the correct pronunciation of her name—something many have been saying wrong for years.

But Moore isn't alone in this common mispronunciation. Other stars, including Raven-Symone, Brendan Fraser, Adele, Ariana Grande, Zendaya, and Timothee Chalamet, have also corrected the public on how to say their names properly after years of confusion.

What did Demi Moore claim in the resurfaced clip with Jimmy Fallon?

In a recently resurfaced clip from her 2017 appearance on 'The Tonight Show' with Jimmy Fallon, 62-year-old Demi Moore revealed the correct way fans should pronounce her name.

Moore, whose illustrious movie career has spanned over four decades, shared that many people have been saying her name incorrectly. She confirmed that her preferred pronunciation is "Duh-mee," as it flows better with her last name.

While comedian Jimmy Fallon pointed out that many people say "Deh-mee," similar to singer Demi Lovato, Moore explained that both she and Lovato’s families come from similar regions in the US and traditionally say their names in the same way.

Moore recalled a conversation with Lovato, saying, “Demi and I had a great conversation about this because she's from Texas and I'm from New Mexico so our families say our names the same way.”

However, despite this similarity, Moore explained, “But we individually both pronounce it differently. It works better with our last names.”

She added, “Like, ‘Deh-mee’ Lovato sounds really good. And ‘Duh-mee’ Moore sounds really good.”

Moore is not the only celebrity to correct common pronunciation mistakes about their names, as per Daily Mail.

Similarly, singer Adele shared that she prefers her name pronounced as “uh-dale” rather than 'uh-dell,' staying true to her North London roots and accent.

Ariana Grande, another singer, revealed that she used to pronounce her last name as 'gran-dee' while growing up.

In fact, 'gran-dee' has always been the correct pronunciation in the Grande family, not 'gran-day.'
