BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: As Sean 'Diddy' Combs entered the third week of his high-profile federal trial on Tuesday, May 27, testimonies turned toward his long-term relationship with singer Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura.

In a revealing moment, Diddy's former assistant, Capricorn Clark, testified that Cassie once cited Jay-Z and Beyonce’s powerful relationship as a reason for staying with Diddy, despite allegations of abuse.

The music mogul is facing a slew of serious charges, including racketeering and has pleaded not guilty. If convicted on all counts, Diddy could face life in prison. He remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, as per VIBE.com.

What did Diddy’s former assistant reveal during trial?

During testimony at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs' federal trial on Tuesday, May 27, former assistant Capricorn Clark revealed that in April 2024, shortly after federal agents raided Diddy's properties in Miami and Los Angeles, she and her attorney met with his legal team to discuss the possibility of her returning as his chief of staff.

Under cross-examination, Diddy's attorney Marc Agnifilo questioned Clark about a conversation from that meeting, in which she admitted having previously advised Cassie to leave Diddy and pursue a healthier relationship.

According to Clark, Cassie responded by saying, “Jay-Z is taken,” and questioned, “Who would I date?" implying a lack of equally powerful or influential alternatives.

Earlier in the day, Clark also testified about a disturbing incident from December 2011, claiming that Diddy showed up at her home with a gun and demanded she accompany him to confront rapper Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi). He was allegedly enraged over Cudi’s brief romantic involvement with Cassie during a break in their on-again, off-again 11-year relationship.

During testimony on Tuesday, June 3, a former hotel security officer claimed that Diddy paid $100,000 to conceal surveillance footage allegedly showing him assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in 2016.

Eddy Garcia, who worked private security at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles at the time, told the court that Diddy’s assistant, Kristina Khorram, approached him about accessing the hotel’s security recordings. According to Garcia, Diddy later attempted to downplay the situation, saying Ventura also wanted the footage destroyed, as per CBS News.

Garcia said he declined the request, telling Khorram discreetly, “Off the record, it’s bad.” He described a phone call with Diddy as tense, with the music mogul sounding “very nervous” and speaking quickly. During the call, Diddy allegedly begged Garcia to help bury the footage, saying it could ruin him and promising to take care of Garcia in return.

After consulting with his supervisor, Garcia testified that they negotiated a $50,000 price for the footage. When told of the deal, Diddy reportedly responded, “Eddy, my angel.”

Garcia handed over the footage via a USB drive, signed a non-disclosure agreement, and a document confirming that no other copies existed. He recalled Diddy being visibly relieved and “just looked happy.”

When Garcia raised concerns about possible police involvement, he said Diddy put Ventura on a FaceTime call. She allegedly told Garcia that she had a film coming out and wanted the incident to disappear. Diddy then allegedly increased the payment to $100,000: $50,000 went to Garcia’s supervisor, $20,000 to another hotel employee, and Garcia received $30,000 himself.

Garcia also shared that Diddy later texted him, writing: “Happy Easter, Eddy, my angel, God is good. God put you in my life for a reason.”
