Diddy’s fans express concern for his 'adopted daughter' Ava Baroni as 2020 video resurfaces after arrest
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In light of the disturbing accusations against Sean 'Diddy' Combs, a resurfaced video from 2020 has reportedly raised concerns among fans.
The clip — featuring Diddy introducing a young girl as his "adopted daughter" during an Instagram livestream — is raising eyebrows, particularly after his recent arrest on serious charges.
The 54-year-old music mogul, who has since been charged with sex trafficking and racketeering, is seen in the video claiming to have adopted a white girl named Ava so she could have a "Black parent."
Diddy's video with adopted daughter Ava surfaces
The video in question was a skit, but it’s making waves once again in light of recent developments. In the clip, Diddy is seen playfully kissing Ava on the cheek and introducing her to the world as his adopted daughter.
"Yes, it's breaking news. Diddy adopted a White child," he says in the clip. "I want you to tell them the story of how I adopted you. You still have beautiful parents, but you're my child also. Please, tell the story."
Ava responds by sharing a dramatic tale of how she was "on the streets" before "Papa Combs" swept in to save her.
"So, I was on the streets, and then Papa Combs decided that he would like to be a caring man," she says as Diddy laughs. "So then he saw me and decided to pick me up. And said to come inside and play with his kids."
Everyone forgot Diddy introduced his adopted daughter Ava on IG in 2020 and now she is nowhere to be found. 50 claimed that he pimped her and there was evidence. The people from this story thought she may be this missing little girl. This trial is going to be insane I’m feeling. pic.twitter.com/R3hj9o0I2G

Diddy then interrupts to clarify things: "Ava, that’s a little borderline suspect. I adopted you like Madonna adopted kids, and everybody else adopted kids — Charlize Theron, Sandra Bullock. I adopted you because I felt that you could enjoy having a Black parent to take care of you, and help you out. So just clarify it, ‘cause it’s crazy out here online."
"You play with the kids, and I got permission from your mother, say all of that," he quips.
It’s clear that Diddy is playing things up for laughs in the video, but fans are taking a second look at the clip with more serious concerns given his recent arrest. TMZ has since reported that Diddy never actually adopted Ava and that the entire thing was meant to be a joke. Still, the video now feels unsettling to many considering the charges Diddy is currently facing.
Ava’s connection to Combs family
So, who exactly is Ava? According to reports, Ava has been friends with Diddy’s twin daughters D'Lila and Jessie for years. She even refers to them as sisters in the video, saying, "Well, I met Jessie and D'Lila when I was six months old. And then we basically are sisters."
However, TMZ reported that Diddy has never had a parental role in Ava’s life. Her real parents are longtime friends of the late Kim Porter, Diddy's ex and mother to three of his children. Ava's family has reportedly distanced themselves from Diddy but she remains close with D'Lila and Jessie.
It's worth noting that Diddy shares seven children with four different women. In addition to twins D'Lila and Jessie, he also shares son Christian, 26, with Kim Porter—who tragically passed away in 2018 at just 47. Diddy also adopted Kim’s son Quincy, 33, from her previous relationship and they have maintained a close bond.
Aside from his children with Kim, Diddy also has a son Justin, 30, with stylist Misa Hylton, and a daughter, Chance, 18, with businesswoman Sarah Chapman. In December 2022, Diddy welcomed his youngest child — a daughter named Love who is now one year old — with model Dana Tran.
Kim Porter’s sudden death in 2018 left an indelible mark on Diddy and their family. She reportedly passed away from pneumonia after suffering from flu-like symptoms, which shocked many as she had been a healthy and vibrant presence for years.
The two shared an on-again, off-again relationship from 1994 until their final split in 2007. However, they remained close friends and co-parents up until her death, per the Daily Mail.
Diddy’s legal troubles
That said, Diddy’s life is now embroiled in some serious legal drama. He is accused of abusing, coercing, and threatening women over many years in order "to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct."
The charges date back to 2008 and suggest a long history of disturbing behavior. Despite the gravity of these allegations, the rapper has pleaded not guilty. After Diddy's arrest, a judge denied him bail despite the mogul offering up his and his mother's Miami properties — valued at $50 million — as collateral.
Furthermore, Diddy recently lost an appeal to have the bail decision overturned. He remains behind bars at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center while awaiting trial.

"P. Diddy" adopted an unknown White girl. Why would he do that?
