PLEASANTON, CALIFORNIA: ‘Dilbert’ cartoonist Scott Adams revealed that he is paralyzed below the waist while battling cancer.

Scott Adams went live on YouTube from his hospital bed on December 13, titling the broadcast 'No Coffee with Scott Adams.' The ‘Dilbert’ cartoonist told his 197,000 subscribers that he is "paralyzed below the waist" as he continues his battle with prostate cancer. “I can’t move any muscles. I do have feeling, I just can’t move any muscles,” Adams said.

Adams explained that doctors are working on a plan to move him to a treatment facility for radiation. He said the goal is to target a tumor near his spine and, if treatment is successful, restore some strength in his lower body.

He shared, "They’re gonna try to radiate that pesky tumor that’s around my spine if all goes well, and it gets more tumor than it gets good stuff, I might get my, at least ability to get to get some strength back in my lower body."

The cartoonist, whose comic strip debuted in 1989, praised the hospital staff caring for him. He said several days of radiation and continued support from nurses should help him regain enough independence to return home. Adams added that doctors have closely examined his condition and that he is receiving extensive care at Kaiser, saying, "More than enough. They’re bending over backwards."

Trump steps in to help Scott Adams amid cancer recovery

Scott Adams, a vocal supporter of Donald Trump, said he plans to ask the president for help securing a treatment that could extend his life.

In a post on X, Adams wrote that he will reach out to Trump, saying the president previously offered assistance and that he now needs it as he battles metastatic prostate cancer. "I will ask President Trump, via X, to help save my life. He offered to help me if I needed it. I need it. As many of you know, I have metastasized prostate cancer."

Adams said, "My healthcare provider, Kaiser of Northern California, has approved my application to receive a newly FDA-approved drug called Pluvicto."

He added, "But they have dropped the ball in scheduling the brief IV to administer it and I can’t seem to fix that. I am declining fast. I will ask President Trump if he can get Kaiser of Northern California to respond and schedule it."

The 'Dilbert' creator said, "That will give me a fighting chance to stick around on this planet a little bit longer. It is not a cure, but it does give good results to many people."

After Adams shared his message, President Trump reposted it on Truth Social and responded, “On it!” Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, who oversees the FDA, also replied, asking, "Scott. How do I reach you? The president wants to help.”

“My life expectancy is maybe this summer. I expect to be checking out from this domain sometime this summer,” he said in May. “The disease is already intolerable. I can tell you that I don’t have good days. So if you are wondering, ‘Hey Scott, do you have any good days?' Nope. Nope. Every day is a nightmare and evening is even worse.”
