LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The internet, with its vast reach and rapid spread of information, has once again sparked confusion and controversy with a claim that left many questioning its reliability.

Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp, known for their close friendship, have found themselves at the center of an offensive rumor circulating online. It’s important to note that Brown was one of the first people Schnapp confided in about his sexuality, strengthening their bond.

Despite not sharing much screen time on 'Stranger Things', the pair has made headlines after reports surfaced that Brown allegedly called Schnapp an “LGBBQ” and joked about setting him on fire. Let’s uncover the truth behind these viral claims.

On December 9, an X account named Drop Pop posted a bizarre meme targeting 'Stranger Things' stars Noah Schnapp and Millie Bobby Brown. The post claimed, "Noah Schnapp shares that Millie Bobby Brown has repeatedly joked about setting him on fire and calling him an LGBBQ," accompanied by a collage of the duo.

By December 10, the tweet went viral, amassing over 34.9 million views, 9.3K comments, 31K reposts, and a staggering 437K likes. This led many internet users to believe the claim, despite its questionable nature.

This isn't the first time Brown has been the target of online trolls. At the age of 14, she was falsely portrayed as homophobic on the internet, with assertions that she made offensive statements, leading her to deactivate her X (formerly Twitter) account for some time. Now, years later, the internet continues to spread similar rumors, this time involving Noah Schnapp as well.

Although the meme quickly went viral and appeared to be true, further investigation revealed that the account behind it, Drop Pop, is categorized as a parody account.

According to the account's "About" page, it states: "Parody account, everything posted on the account is satirical and for humorous purposes, our posts are not meant to be taken seriously. DM for removal, enquiries, etc…." This clarification reveals that the viral claim, which garnered millions of views, was entirely false.

Furthermore, neither Millie Bobby Brown nor Noah Schnapp—who publicly came out as gay last year—has ever made or shared such a statement.

Millie Bobby Brown, 20, has not addressed the recent claims although she has previously spoken out against online trolling.

In an award speech, she called out such memes for what they truly are and reminded people that this kind of behavior is hurtful.

Brown, who became a star at the age of 12, opened up about cyberbullying during the 2018 MTV TV Awards, as per Netflix Junkie. In a pre-recorded video message, the young actress shared a timeless piece of advice: "If you don’t have anything nice to say, just don’t say it."

Despite the claim being debunked, the spread of false information without any clear disclaimer has led many to form negative opinions about Brown, with some expressing strong reactions to the misinformation.
