Fans hail Taylor Swift for having a ‘heart of gold’ as she donates 100K to woman killed during parade
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: Taylor Swift has shown her generosity and compassion by donating $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan who was fatally shot during the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory parade.
The pop star made two donations of $50,000 each on the GoFundMe page set up for the 44-year-old victim who left behind two children and a husband of 22 years.

Taylor Swift’s message of sympathy and support to Lisa Lopez-Galvan
Swift also left a heartfelt message on the page, expressing her condolences and love to the bereaved family. “Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift,” she wrote.
Swift’s representative confirmed to Variety that the donations were authentic. The GoFundMe page, organized by Rose Lopez Shaw, described Lisa Lopez-Galvan as “an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many.”
She was among the thousands of fans who were celebrating the Chiefs’ Super Bowl win when she was killed by gunfire.
The page had a goal of raising $75,000, but thanks to Swift and other 2.1K donors, it had surpassed $200,000 at the time of filing this report.
Taylor Swift’s fans praise her kindness and generosity
Swift’s fans were quick to praise her kindness and generosity, commenting that she has a “heart of gold” and saying she never deserves hate.
“Heart of Gold,” a fan wrote on X in response to her donations. "These kinds of news about Taylor Swift have to go viral, she’s amazing," wrote another.
Swift made the donations while she was in Melbourne, Australia, where she was performing the first night of a three-night concert after flying halfway around the world from the Super Bowl.
However, not everyone was impressed by Swift’s gesture. Some critics questioned why she had to put her name on the donations and suggested that she was doing it for publicity or to buy a soul.
“Prize for the soul in the US is 100K.” Another wrote, “Why did she has to put her name on it?,” with one more adding, “When one truly gives from the heart YOU don’t make it public……”

Police investigation into the shooting during Chiefs' Super Bowl victory parade
Police in Kansas said on Thursday, February 15, they have arrested two teenagers in connection with the shooting, which injured 30 other people, eight of them critically.
Initially, they had arrested three people, but had to release one after determining that the person was not involved.
Police chief, Stacey Graves, said there was no evidence that the shooters were motivated by terrorism or extremism, but rather by some kind of personal dispute between several people.
“I’m angered about what occurred in our city yesterday,” Chief Graves said.
Police spokeswoman, Alayna Gonzalez, said on Thursday night, February 15, that investigators were working with juvenile court prosecutors to “determine applicable charges” against the two teenagers.
