This story has been updated to reflect changes or accurate info regarding a person detained and later released in connection with the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

Update: A man briefly detained by law enforcement in Rio Rico, Arizona, was questioned in connection with Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance but was released without charges after several hours of questioning and a court‑authorized search of a property.

TUCSON, ARIZONA: The investigation into the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's 84-year-old mother Nancy continues as the FBI searches for new leads. Agents recently recovered a black glove from the roadside near her home, a discovery that could be significant to the case.

Authorities believe the glove may be connected to the masked individual suspected of abducting Nancy, who went missing on February 1. The development follows the FBI’s release of doorbell camera footage showing a masked man outside her home on the morning of her disappearance.

FBI is conducting an 'extensive search' to find Nancy Guthrie

Investigators found the glove along a road about one and a half miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home on Wednesday, February 11. According to the New York Post, the glove appeared to be lodged in a small roadside shrub.

Video and photos show at least one member of the FBI Evidence Response Team pulling the glove from low desert brush in Guthrie’s secluded suburb on the edge of Tucson. Officers then removed the glove from the shrubbery and placed it into an evidence bag.

In previously released FBI footage, the individual seen tampering with Nancy’s doorbell camera wore dark-colored gloves. On Wednesday, the FBI announced it was conducting an “extensive search” along several roadways in the Catalina Foothills area as part of the investigation into Guthrie’s disappearance.

Authorities have not identified any suspects in the presumed kidnapping, during which someone appears to have forced Guthrie from her home and left a trail of blood behind.

Newly released videos show armed suspect in front of Nancy's doorbell camera

On Tuesday, February 10, FBI Director Kash Patel released new videos and images from the doorbell camera at Nancy Guthrie’s home. The footage appears to show an armed individual tampering with the front-door camera on the morning Nancy disappeared. Along with the images, Patel shared three newly recovered videos recorded at Guthrie’s front door that same morning.

In the first 26-second clip, an armed, masked man reaches toward the camera, tries to block it with his hand, and then steps away to find something to cover it. In the second 10-second clip, the individual approaches the front door, checks the camera, walks off, picks up vegetation from the ground, and uses it to cover the lens. The final four-second video shows the man looking down as he enters Nancy Guthrie’s home.

Savannah Guthrie posted the footage on Instagram on February 10 and urged the public to come forward with information. “Someone out there recognizes this person,” she said. “We believe she is still out there. Bring her home.”

So far, FBI images show only one individual, and investigators have not identified a motive or confirmed the person’s role. Human behavior analyst Susan Constantine said investigators can still analyze key physical traits despite the mask.

“Even with the mask on, we can still see his eyes, his body structure, his proportions and his gait,” she said. Constantine described him as physically fit and athletic, likely with brown eyes, closely trimmed facial hair, and an olive-toned complexion. She added, “The clothing, the gloves, the backpack — those are linkable details.”

The FBI has asked anyone with information about Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
