WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News hosts expressed dismay on Friday, August 9, over Vice President Kamala Harris' enthusiasm for cooking, a reaction that soon became the target of widespread ridicule.

The Democratic presidential nominee runs a YouTube channel dedicated to cooking, showcasing videos on how to make cookies, tuna sandwiches, masala dosa, and more.

Host Julie Banderas criticizes cooking videos featuring Kamala Harris

According to Raw Story, host Julie Banderas expressed criticism over cooking videos featuring Harris, "First of all, that's not doing women any favors."

“Yes, it would be amazing to have a woman in the White House one day. That would be a huge glass ceiling shattered,” Banderas conceded, yet she insisted that she does not ”want to hear about a White House, uh, president cooking.”

As her colleagues chuckled over her strong opinions on spicy food, she heaped another serving onto her plate.

“And especially a woman! I don’t cook! And I proudly wear that badge. I am not domesticated whatsoever,” she said.

As she addressed the audience, images of Harris and her spouse, Doug Emhoff, beaming in their kitchen were displayed on the screen.

"Not only does Kamala Harris smile, laugh, and hug people — but she cooks! Fox is appalled by such normal behavior," said Mark Jacob, a journalist from Chicago, and who has a biography that includes work with The Chicago Sun-Times and the Chicago Tribune.

National security attorney Bradley Moss made a mocking remark, "Nothing says 'out of touch' like media elites proudly stating they don’t cook while trashing Kamala Harris for liking to cook."

Internet slams Fox News hosts

Given that numerous conservatives have praised the role of a traditional wife, the confusion among social media users regarding Banderas' issue with Harris' cooking abilities was notable.

A user wrote, "So let me get this straight… Conservatives are now anti-trad wives? Wut?"

A third commentator remarked, "Old enough to remember the rightwing freakout when Hillary Clinton said she didn't "stay home and bake cookies.""

"I bet Banderas thinks that this statement says more about President Kamala Harris than it says about her. Can you imagine thinking that a woman can’t be president and cook at the same time?" One stated.

A person said, "Imagine going on national television and bragging that you are such a lazy parent that you don't ensure that your children have food to eat."

Other chimed in, "For Fox "News", cooking is not OK. Felonies, sexual assaults, multiple frauds, bullying, having 3 spouses & cheating on all of them, paying off a porn star, disrespecting childless women, & taking away the right to choose, are all OK. Cooking is one step too far for @FoxNews"

An X user claimed, "Harris has a whole series of cooking videos on her YouTube and one thing I’ve learned so far is that she’s got the one-handed egg crack down."

"Stay home ladies, unless you fit the Fox News casting call requirements," One of the users trolled.

Another person asserted, "I’m confused myself. They change their mind for their own narrative too many times. It’s really pathetic."
