OAKS, PENNSYLVANIA: Geraldo Rivera called Donald Trump a "Godzilla in a suit" as he shared his thoughts on the presidential election's outcome where Trump secured a decisive victory over Kamala Harris.

In a series of detailed posts on X, Rivera explored the reasons behind Trump’s remarkable comeback, despite facing numerous legal battles and controversies.

Geraldo Rivera says Donald Trump is a 'league of his own'

Geraldo Rivera, once a friend of Donald Trump, expressed his amazement at how Trump galvanized a broad support base across different demographics, including women, Black, and Latino voters.

"Women decided big, bad Trump was preferable to battle the demons of the economy, immigration and crime, despite Oprah and Taylor Swift, and despite the historic nature of the Harris candidacy," he wrote.

According to Rivera, Trump’s victory highlights his unique ability to connect with voters, despite a series of federal charges, multiple impeachments, and legal troubles.

“Donald Trump proved he is in a league of his own, the real Teflon Don,” he said.

With controversies ranging from accusations of inflating property values to being found liable for assault, the 81-year-old journalist said, Trump is "the definition of inappropriate."

Rivera was candid about his own support for Vice President Kamala Harris, yet admitted that Trump’s triumph was overwhelming.

“He’s the sore loser who put his grievances ahead of his country, ahead of the Constitution he was sworn to protect and defend, yet he won overwhelmingly,” he said.

Geraldo Rivera's criticism of Kamala Harris' candidacy

Weighing in on why Kamala Harris lost the 2024 presidential election, Geraldo River wrote, "She didn’t seem able to ad lib answers even in the friendliest venue. She never could articulate how her presidency would differ from Joe Biden’s."

"Nor did she reassure a tradition-minded nation that she wasn’t going to upend our centuries old norms," he continued.

Comparing the vice president to Trump, Rivera noted, "Mainly, she wasn’t Trump, larger than life, powerful, heroic, defiant survivor of assassination attempts, Godzilla in a suit and extra-long necktie, avatar of free enterprise and gaudy realization of the American Dream."

In a follow-up post, Rivera shifted his focus to the current administration, urging President Joe Biden to utilize the remaining two months of his term to take decisive action on critical issues.

Rivera specifically called for increased support for Ukraine, emphasizing the need to bolster aid before Trump officially returns to the White House next year, according to Daily Beast.

This plea reflects growing concerns that a second Trump presidency might deprioritize foreign aid commitments.
