Gwyneth Paltrow is team Ben Affleck amid Jennifer Lopez divorce rumors and offers to be his 'uncoupling therapist'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gwyneth Paltrow is Team Ben after all! The Goop founder who dated Ben Affleck in the late 1990s, suggested in a new interview that she could become the  ‘AIR’ star’s “uncoupling therapist” should he decide to divorce Jennifer Lopez.

Affleck, 51, and Lopez, 54, have recently sparked a divorce rumor after the ‘Good Will Hunting’ actor moved out of their $60 million marital home in Beverly Hills, California, and started living in a rented property in Brentwood. 

Subsequently, the couple who married in 2022 after reconnecting their romance in 2021, have been leaving some frosty displays of affection during their public outings fueling further rumors of separation earlier in May this year.

Now, it is said that Paltrow is taking sides with her ex-fiance as she has allegedly suggested that she could act as his “uncoupling” therapist.

Gwyneth Paltrow has allegedly reached out to Affleck regarding his rumored divorce with Lopez, shared an insider. 

A source close to the actress recently revealed to In Touch that Paltrow remains "Team Ben," per Marca.

They continued, "Gwyneth has been following the situation closely and believes really strongly that she could help them by sharing some of the tools that worked for her and Chris Martin.”

The ‘Emma’ actress married Coldplay’s Chris Martin in 2003 and welcomed two children. In 2014, the former couple divorced after announcing they were "consciously uncoupling."

Prior to starting her romance with Martin, Paltrow dated Affleck in the late 90s after meeting for the first time in 1997. Later they starred together in ‘Shakespeare in Love’ and ‘Bounce’. 

Now, the actress feels it is her time to help her former boyfriend muddle through the sticky situation, as the insider shared, "People ask her for that kind of help all the time, but she's very picky about who she'll give her time to.”

“Ben isn't just anyone though, she's been friends with him for nearly 30 years and she hates to see him going through this sort of pain,” revealed the insider to the In Touch. 

They continued, "She knows he's far from perfect and she's got enough distance to act as an impartial mediator for him and JLo She's offered to try and help them get back on track but if it comes down to it she's also got the skills to help them navigate the divorce with spiritual techniques, and practical advice to make it easier on them and on their kids.”

"It's typical Gwyneth, she always loves to meddle, but at least her heart is in the right place,” declared the insider.

Affleck would, however, not be the first of Paltrow’s ex to have received counsel from her. Previously, it was said that the ‘Sliding Doors’ star stepped into Martin’s relationship with Dakota Johnson. 

It is said that in 2019 when the Coldplay frontman and the ‘Fifty Shades’ were going through a rough patch, Paltrow offered them advice which led to their reconciliation. 

A source shared, “Gwyneth is the one who pushed them to do it. Gwyneth is happy if Chris is happy; she only wants the best for him,” per Daily Mail.

After having a lot of ups and downs, it is also said that Martin and Johnson are now going “strong.”
