Gypsy Rose Blanchard reveals how she plans to tell her daughter that she murdered her mother Dee Dee

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: Gypsy Rose Blanchard has opened up about the difficult conversation she will one day have with her daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, regarding the murder of her mother, Claudine "Dee Dee" Blanchard.
Now 33, Gypsy was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 after pleading guilty to her role in the killing of her mother.

For those unknown, Dee Dee Blanchard, who allegedly had a mental illness known as factitious disorder imposed on another aka Munchausen syndrome by proxy, had reportedly fabricated life-threatening illnesses for Gypsy Rose Blanchard, forcing her to use a wheelchair, shave her head, and take unnecessary medication for years.
After meeting Nicholas "Nick" Godejohn online, together they formulated a murder plan, and in June 2015, Dee Dee was stabbed to death by Nicholas after Gypsy let him into their home.

Nicholas was found guilty of first-degree murder in 2019 and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
While Gypsy, who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, was originally sentenced to ten years, she was granted early release in December 2023 after serving eight years of her sentence.

As she prepared to reenter society, she expressed her eagerness for a fresh start.
"I'm ready to expand and I think that goes for every facet of my life," Gypsy told People, as she embraced her long-awaited freedom.

"When you know, I was asked in interviews, and that is a question that everybody asked me, my response was always, 'We will tell her at the right time', but then a bigger conversation needs to be had of how do you explain to a child?" she said, as per LADbible.

"How do you explain because things come up, whether they're in school class, someone is going to bring it up, and I want to make sure that her family are the ones that talk to her about it before somebody else does," Gypsy added.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard turns to seeking professional guidance
The weight of the conversation has been an emotional burden for Gypsy Rose Blanchard, something she came to terms with after giving birth.
"After the postpartum hormones, I cried and cried and cried and had that emotional, you know, release that this will be something that I have to broach the conversation with," she shared.
To navigate this sensitive discussion, Gypsy and her family are reportedly turning to professional help.

"So we are going to get a therapist, a child therapist, and ask that therapist, 'How is the best way to start having these conversations?' Start breaking it down so a child can understand because it is beyond us as parents," the new mom shared.
In a December 2023 interview, the 32-year-old revealed that fame was never her goal.

"I didn't want to be a singer. I didn't want to be an actress. I wanted to be something that made a difference," she shared exclusively with People.
Although she never aspired to be in the spotlight, Gypsy admitted that she now hopes to grow a social media presence following her release from the Chillicothe Correctional Center.
Reflecting on her past, she acknowledged, "The choice that I made to commit murder was never the right choice."
