Gypsy Rose Blanchard's ex Ryan Anderson 'glad' divorce saga is over, says he was always a 'good husband'
BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: Ryan Scott Anderson, the Louisiana school teacher who got married to Gypsy Rose Blanchard in 2022 while she was in prison, says he's relieved now that their divorce is over.
His lawyer, Randy J Fuerst, shared in an exclusive statement to People that the 38-year-old is glad to close this chapter of his life.
The outlet reported on Monday, December 9, that the couple had finalized their divorce. They have reportedly opted out of spousal support.
Ryan Anderson seeks 'healthy new beginning' after finalization of divorce
Randy J Fuerst shared, "Ryan Anderson was aware that the divorce was taking place today. He’s always conducted himself as a gentleman and a good husband. He did not seek this divorce but is now glad that this saga in his life is over and he looks forward to a healthy new beginning."
In an exclusive interview ahead of the release of her memoir, 'My Time to Stand,' Gypsy, 33, opened up about the issues that led to the end of her marriage.
She admitted that their sex life "was not ideal" and mentioned it might have been due to a lack of attraction or her own unresolved emotional issues.

Ryan and Gypsy's relationship began during her 10-year prison sentence at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, where she was serving time for her role in the 2015 murder of her mother, Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard.
Gypsy, then 23, had conspired with her ex-boyfriend, Nicholas "Nick" Godejohn, to kill her mother.
Despite the unconventional circumstances, Ryan and Gypsy married in a quiet jailhouse ceremony without guests in July 2022.
Ahead of her early release in December 2023, Gypsy told People she planned to remarry Anderson. However, just three months later, in March, she announced that she was separating from him. She filed for divorce one week later in April.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard got into a 'scary' argument with Ryan Anderson before separation
An intense argument between the couple might have been another key reason behind their separation.
"Ryan got in her face and screamed," said Gypsy's friend, Nadiya Vizier in an exclusive interview with People in April.
She added, "Gypsy said that she was afraid he was going to hit her. He didn't — but that happened in the past with her mother. So, her first instinct was to tighten up and be prepared. But she got to safety and called her lawyer, too. Ryan is a big guy, and she told me it was really scary."
Ryan has denied any abusive behavior, telling People that he was "blindsided by how fast events took place."
Reflecting on the argument, he said, "We were going through a lot. We just got into an argument and that was it. It turned out that was the last time Gypsy was really here. I've only seen her one time after that."
Gypsy, who is now expecting her first child with her former fiance and current boyfriend, Ken Urker, revealed that she had realized early in her marriage that she was "just settling."
However, she reached out to Ryan for closure. "I did extend the offer to have a civil conversation for closure purposes," she said.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard reunited with ex Ken Urker shortly after splitting from Ryan Anderson
As fans may know, shortly after her separation from Ryan Anderson, Gypsy Rose Blanchard reunited with Ken Urker, and the two celebrated their reunion by getting matching tattoos.
The mom-to-be recently opened up about her relationship with Urker on 'The Viall Files' podcast, reflecting on their bond.
She shared that reuniting with Urker helped them work through "seven years of built-up tension," which she described as "amazing."
"I felt a soul connection with Ken where I felt like I could be myself," Gypsy added. "I didn't have to pretend to be anything. I didn't have to hide the trauma that I had went through. I could open up about that stuff. We're doing really good."

As for Ken, Ryan reportedly said in May, "Honestly, I feel like he was going to pop up at some point. He was going to rear his head in some way, and at some point we'd have to deal with this."
While talking about his relationship with Gypsy, Ken said, "It just happened so fast. I'm still processing things. She's in her freedom phase, that's what she wants to do. I do know that Gypsy does have love for me and vice versa."

In July, Gypsy announced that she and Ken were expecting their first child together. She is due to give birth to a baby girl on January 22, 2025.
Gypsy even took a non-invasive prenatal paternity test and publicly confirmed on November 5 that Ken is the father of her baby and not Ryan.
Since then, some reports have claimed that they have parted ways, however, neither Ken nor Gypsy has commented on this.
