LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As anticipation built for the return of '1923' on February 23, 2025, acting legend Harrison Ford shared his thoughts on the critically acclaimed show and the script of the second season a "treasure."

Ford returns as Jacob Dutton in '1923' Season 2, continuing his powerful portrayal of the patriarch struggling to protect his family and legacy.

The hit 'Yellowstone' prequel, which captivated audiences with its dramatic storytelling and stunning visuals, earned rave reviews from both critics and its all-star cast.

Harrison Ford, who portrayed Jacob Dutton in the series, was just one of the many seasoned actors to express admiration for the show’s writing and direction, especially with Season 2 on the horizon.

The 81-year-old actor, known for his roles in 'Star Wars' and 'Indiana Jones', acknowledged the script's exceptional quality and how rare it was for an actor to come across such a well-crafted story. "It’s a treasure for an actor to read this kind of stuff," he remarked.

In addition to Ford’s praise, other members of the cast quickly shared their admiration for the show’s creator Taylor Sheridan. '1923' impressed with its attention to detail, stunning cinematography, and powerful performances, with many actors saying Season 2 is even more remarkable than the first

Julia Schlaepfer, who played Spencer Dutton's love interest Alexandra, opened up about her emotional reaction when she first read the Season 2 script.

“Taylor sent me the scripts and I was weeping, and I called him. It was very very emotional,” she recalled, highlighting the personal impact the material had on her.

Brandon Sklenar, who starred as Spencer Dutton, echoed Ford’s sentiments, emphasizing how Sheridan's writing in Season 2 elevated the show even further.

“He really brought it with his writing. He always does but this just feels like a whole other level," Sklenar shared.

Helen Mirren and Jeremy Renner praise '1923' for its dedication

While Harrison Ford’s comments garnered attention, '1923' was also hailed by actors like Oscar winner Helen Mirren and Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner, all of whom found themselves inspired by Sheridan’s vision.

Jerome Flynn, who portrayed villain Banner Creighton, added his thoughts on the dedication of everyone involved in the production: "Everybody’s invested, there’s a real devotion to their work and their art… I don’t know how they do it," he said.

With a massive budget of $22 million per episode, '1923' continued to impress not only for its gripping narrative and complex characters but also for its grand scale and historical accuracy, WiskeyRiff reported. 

The much-awaited second season of '1923' is set to be released on February 23, 2025.
