NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Al Roker stands tall at 5 feet 8 inches, however, many of his fans claimed the NBC legend was made to look just “3 feet tall” during Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Roker, 70, faced a few controversial moments as co-host of the annual Thanksgiving event on Thursday, November 28. However, the most talked-about topic among fans was his height and seating arrangements, which led to many curious questions and speculations.

As the veteran weatherman initially sat beside his co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, fans noticed that Roker was looking considerably shorter than his counterparts.

Al Roker’s height at Thanksgiving Parade sparks curiosity

Al Roker, dressed in all brown, initially sat beside Guthrie and Kotb, when the viewers started noticing the disparity in the heights of the television presenters’ chairs.

The veteran journalist appeared to be sitting in a smaller chair, while his co-hosts appeared considerably taller than him, reported The US Sun.

In reality, Kotb and Guthrie are just one and two inches taller than Roker, respectively. While Guthrie is the tallest at 5'10", Kotb too has an impressive height of 5’9".

Nevertheless, the unusual seating arrangement quickly caught the attention of the fans who slammed the channel for providing Roker with a smaller seat which they termed a “kid’s chair.”

However, having his seating was not the only problem during the annual parade. Though he has been hosting the event since 1995, Roker also made a blunder while managing his microphone initially.

Viewers were left with mixed feelings as Al Roker appeared on screen during the Thanksgiving Day parade. While some of the fans declared 'Today' did him "dirty," some even shared their opinion that the controversial chair setup made him look like he "shrunk about a foot."

"Why they got my Homie Al Roker in the kid’s chair?" asked a viewer on X

Another said, "Why does Al Roker look like a Hobbit sitting at the NBC table with Hoda Kotb lol."

Someone else asked, "Why are they doing Al Roker dirty like this and him look like he’s 3 feet tall?"

"Can someone tell me, was that Al Roker 2.0? He sounded and looked different plus he shrunk about a foot," declared another fan.

Another added, "They put Al Roker at the 👦👧 kids' table for #Thanksgiving #AlRoker."

Someone else asked curiously, "Uh, is Al Roker shrinking?"

"Raise your chair Al Roker," advised another fan helpfully.

Someone else lambasted the organizers, saying, "@TODAYshow did Al Roker dirty with this setup. Coulda given him a step ladder or something. #MacysThanksgivingParade."

Another fan mused, "Al Roker deserves better—put some respect on the man’s name! Someone get him a throne, not a booster seat!"

"Poor Al! He deserves a seat that matches his big personality. Come on, show the man some respect and get him a proper chair!" noted someone else.
