Insider reveals why Katy Perry is ‘regretting’ her Blue Origin 11-minute space expedition

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The all-female crew of Blue Origin’s New Shepard that took off to space on Monday, April 14, has continued to face backlash and it seems the negativity has impacted Katy Perry, who’s now reportedly “regretting” it.
Perry was one among the six crew members — journalist Gayle King, philanthropist Lauren Sanchez, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn — who went for the 11-minute expedition.

She was quite happy with the experience as she had reportedly said, “It's about us. It's about making space for future women and taking up space and belonging.”
“And it's about this wonderful world that we see right out there and appreciating it. This is all for the benefit of Earth,” the 40-year-old added.

But now as per a source, the singer’s doubting herself and her decision.
A tipster shared with the Daily Mail, “Katy doesn't regret going to space. It was life changing. What she does regret is making a public spectacle out of it.”
After returning from space, Perry held a daisy flower up to the sky, honoring her four-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, who was also present to cheer up her mother at the launch site.

It was the little one’s first public appearance. The songwriter also kissed the ground upon her return, but both the acts were reportedly deemed dramatic and over-the-top.

Blue Origin backlash has ‘disheartened’ Katy Perry

The ‘Queen of Camp’ is now feeling remorse. The insider claimed that she “regrets sharing the daisy with the world” and “wishes the video footage from inside the pod was never shown”.
The source also mentioned that Perry was not expecting the criticism. She’s “disheartened” by the “uncalled for and upsetting” backlash.
But “despite the accusations she is still an environmentalist,” the insider added.
Gayle King fires back at critics
This came after a number of celebrities including Jessica Chastain, Olivia Wilde, and Emily Ratajkowski blasted the mission.

Though Perry has not said anything in response yet, King has hit back.
During an episode of ‘CBS Mornings’, she said, “This is what bothers me, I've certainly read some of the stuff being said online and it's coming from people I know, people I consider friends.”
The TV personality continued, “They call it a ride, which I find very irritating because they never say men went for a ride. It's called a flight or a journey. A ride implies it's something frivolous or light hearted. There's nothing frivolous about what we did.”
“I'm very disappointed and saddened by [the hate]. What it's doing to inspire other women and young girls - please don't ignore that,” King added.
