LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jon Stewart chastised the political right over what he sees as hypocritical complaints about "cancel culture" on the Monday, May 20, episode of 'The Daily Show'.

According to the comedian, the only genuine risk of being "canceled" for a conservative is if they openly criticize former President Donald Trump.

In a blistering monologue on 'The Daily Show', Stewart dismantled claims of victimization among conservatives, highlighting the glaring hypocrisy surrounding the issue, especially when it came to conservative media personals like Fox News host Sean Hannity.

Central to Stewart's critique was the concept of freedom of speech, a subject often invoked by those on the right.

"This is their identity now, constant victimization," said 'The Daily Show' host, adding, "They say what they want, and if you get upset about it, you don’t believe in freedom."

He pointed at figures like Hannity, who purport to champion freedom while simultaneously shutting down dissenting voices, particularly when it comes to criticisms regarding Trump.

Stewart played a clip of the Fox News host asserting, "I just believe in freedom," and insisting he isn't easily outraged. Reacting to this, the comedian exclaimed, "You are so unbelievable," addressing Hannity's role as a prominent advocate for Trump on the conservative network.

"They are so full of s**t that Sean Hannity can say with a square head, ‘I’m not the kind of guy who gets outraged?’ Sean Hannity. He’s basically just a meat bag support system for a forehead vein," added Stewart.

He concluded his monologue by saying, "Truth is, Trump is the real cancel culture, emphasis on cult. Because on the right, you can say whatever the f**k you want about gay people and trans people, and chances are, not only will you be fine, but you'll get a raise. But, if you ever dare to speak out one iota against Donald Trump, be, yes, afraid."

Internet reacts to Jon Stewart's remarks regarding the hypocrisy of conservatives regarding freedom of speech

Soon after Stewart's Monday monologue was uploaded to YouTube, netizens began sharing their perspectives, with one writing, "They say you can turn the channel or walk out but as soon as you do they start crying about being cancelled. They're going to be whining no matter what!"

Another added, "Why sean hasn't moved to the heartland of america after hating on all the coastal elites is beyond me. the man lives on long island, he literally is the coastal elite he rages against."

"I’ve been saying that all this time. Conservatives say the media is bias but liberals make fun of Biden but if a conservative makes fun of Trump they get cancel," remarked a person.

Someone else expressed, "I remember when Sean Hannity used to sneer at Obama as being a lightweight, celebrity politician. Hannity jumped so fast on the Trump train that we now all know how jealous he was of the Democrats having a 'celebrity' to adore as if one was an unredeemable teenager girl."

"Hannity claiming he never gets outraged is like Hannibal Lecter claiming he never ate another human being: a blatant and easily disproven lie," shared an individual, possibly hinting at Trump's New Jersey rally shout-out to Lecter.
