Internet divided over Steve Bannon's warnings about Nikki Haley as potential Donald Trump VP
WASHINGTON, DC: Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon recently raised concerns over the potential inclusion of Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley as Donald Trump's Vice President in the event of his election victory in 2024, as per Newsweek.
Bannon, who currently hosts the 'War Room' podcast, discussed the situation during an interview with Jack Posobiec, the senior editor of the conservative news site, Human Events.
The latter took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a clip of the ex-Trump aide talking about the former South Carolina Governor's possible VP ticket. Bannon is heard saying, "We're going to have a big fight, it will take place in the Spring. They're going to try to force Nikki [Haley] on the ticket."
Warning against the possibility, he added that if Haley becomes the vice president in the second term of the Trump administration, it would "fail."

And if she becoming VP, that’s when they take out Trumphttps://t.co/x05jba2d6Ypic.twitter.com/EprEzhT5uW
Notably, the former UN ambassador is in a neck-to-neck competition with Florida Governor and rival GOP candidate Ron DeSantis for second position in opinion polls, currently dominated by Trump.
Speculations on Haley as Trump's VP pick gained momentum when reports came forward of the former President seeking advice from allies regarding selecting her. Furthermore, the speculations were fueled by her willingness to pardon Trump if elected president and her reluctance to comment on his legal battles.
Steve Bannon claims Nikki Haley can bring the votes of 'Never Trumpers'
Opposing the idea of Haley getting the VP position, Bannon remarked, "They'll say Trump needs a woman. Nikki on the ticket. She balances things, and she can bring together that 15 percent of Never Trumpers in the Republican Party. We're gonna have to have that fight."
Calling her a "viper," he stated the former Governor of South Carolina would try to run the administration "as prime minister."
The conservative media personality also likened GOP's only female White House hopeful to Dick Cheney, George W Bush's vice president from 2001 to 2009. He played a significant role in Bush's decision to declare war against Iraq after the 9/11 attack.
Bannon remarked, "Once she gets in there, she'll try to run it as prime minister. She'll try to be Dick Cheney. Her to Trump Trumpbe just like Dick Cheney to Bush."
Besides the 'War Room' host, a few other Trump allies also oppose the idea of Haley turning VP under Trump, including the former President's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, who pledged to go to any extent to prevent it, and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
Recently, DeSantis also took a dig at Haley, demanding her to rule out the speculations and asking whether she was running for president or position.
Internet has mixed reactions to Steve Bannon's warning regarding Nikki Haley turning VP under Donald Trump
Social media reactions are divided over Bannon's views regarding the chances of Haley, who found herself in hot water over the Civil War controversy, accepting the VP ticket in case Trump made the offer.
Some outrageously opposed the idea, while another section pointed out her statement about not playing for the second position. While others were confused about how the former President could gain the vote of "Never Trumpers" if Haley joined the team.
One said, "Nikki is perceived as a disloyal neo-con by MAGA. She's a non-starter," and another noted, "No she can’t."
A person stated, "I don't think she's running for VP," while someone else wrote, "Nikki Haley said that she has no interest in being anyone else's vice president. “I don’t play for seconds.” Nikki Haley will back pedal or just plain deny it."
An individual asked, "What is funny is I don’t think many Never Trumpers would vote for Trump if Haley is selected…they would just be profoundly disappointed in Haley, so what upside does she offer Trump?"
"I can for sure see this happening," opined one more.
