LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Internet has been rife with speculations as King Charles' former butler shared insights about the possibility of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle making a permanent return to the UK.

Grant Harrold, who served the monarch for seven years during King Charles' tenure as the Prince of Wales, exclusively shared with the New York Post that Prince Harry is reportedly eager to reconnect with his royal roots, possibly alongside his wife.

Former royal butler thinks Prince Harry and Prince William's bond 'can be restored'

"It's difficult to say given everything that has gone on and the trust that has been broken down whether they could return as full-time royals, but I’ve always said if Harry did return to the UK, it is possible," said Grant Harrold, as per the New York Post.

However, he cautioned that reconciliations would need to occur within the family before discussions about a permanent return could take place.

He noted, "He could have a discussion with his brother about resuming his royal duties, but obviously there is so much that has happened over the last couple of years and that needs to be sorted out before the Sussexes made a permanent return."

"I don’t think it would be impossible — when I was working for the royal family, I saw how close William and Harry were, I don’t think that’s a relationship that is too far gone to be healed or fixed. There are lingering feuds that need to be addressed before the Sussexes could consider a permanent return," explained Harrold.

He further shared, "But I believe it's not beyond the realm of possibility. During my tenure with the royal family, I witnessed the closeness between William and Harry, and I believe that bond can be restored."

The former royal butler said that the father of two is still "privy to top-secret information" despite being estranged from most of his loved ones.

"Technically, he is able to step in for the king. If he wasn’t still Counsellor of State, then that would be a very different matter," noted Harrold.

Speculating on the potential timing of a joint visit to the UK by the Sussexes, he remarked, "Depending on developments, we might see Meghan and the family visiting to show support for Harry's family."

Harrold hoped, "Given Charles' affection for his family, I remain optimistic that we may witness a visit from Harry, Meghan, and their entire family this year."

While Prince Harry is reportedly eager for a return, Markle is said to be more apprehensive about the prospect.
