Internet says Diddy 'avoiding responsibility' after he doesn't mention Cassie in apology for legal reasons

To provide context, Diddy issued an apology for his "inexcusable" behavior towards Cassie Ventura, as depicted in recently surfaced footage. On Friday, May 17, CNN released footage from March 2016 showing the music mogul allegedly mistreating his then-girlfriend in the lobby of the now-closed InterContinental Hotel.

Legal reasons that prevented Diddy from mentioning Cassie's name in apology

After the revelation of Diddy's legal constraints preventing him from mentioning Cassie's name in his recent video apology, numerous individuals expressed their opinions, with some resorting to mocking Diddy on Facebook.

Diddy posts apology video on social media

In an Instagram video shared on Sunday, May 19, the 54-year-old Diddy expressed, "It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that."

While he avoided mentioning Ventura directly, the 'Last Night' singer alluded to the surveillance footage, admitting, "I was f****d up. I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable."

"I take full responsibility for my actions in that video, I’m disgusted," added Diddy, whose properties were recently raided by Homeland Security as part of a sex trafficking investigation.

Diddy continued, "I was disgusted then when I did it and I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, started going to therapy and rehab, had to ask god for his mercy and grace."
