LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prosecutors involved in Alec Baldwin's Rust shooting case have presented a damning argument, alleging that the actor-producer exhibited a lack of emotional control on the set, contributing to safety compromises before the tragic incident.

In a public filing made available on Monday, April 8, and obtained by People, Kari T Morrissey and Jason J Lewis, representing New Mexico state prosecutors, portrayed Baldwin, 66, as "inattentive" during firearms training and prone to "frequently screaming and cursing" while on the set of the western movie.

Kari T Morrissey and Jason J Lewis claimed, “To watch Mr Baldwin’s conduct on the set of Rust is to witness a man who has absolutely no control of his own emotions and absolutely no concern for how his conduct affects those around him. Witnesses have testified that it was this exact conduct that contributed to safety compromises on set.”

In the ongoing legal saga surrounding Alec Baldwin's involvement in the Rust shooting incident, prosecutors have fired back at Baldwin's legal team's attempts to dismiss the charges against him. The latest development sheds further light on the complexities and tensions surrounding the case.

The prosecutors' response comes after Baldwin's legal team filed a motion in March seeking to dismiss the charges of involuntary manslaughter against him. These charges, related to the negligent use of a firearm, were re-filed in January by a New Mexico grand jury. Baldwin, who pleaded not guilty to the charges on January 31, potentially faces up to 18 months in prison if convicted.

Throughout the proceedings, Baldwin has adamantly maintained that he did not pull the trigger of the gun involved in the incident. However, the prosecutors' filing alleges that Baldwin's statements have contradicted each other over time.

The prosecutors also wrote that they “have experienced near countless lies and manipulation from the defense,” and have been “the subject of the defendant's contrived and unwarranted personal attacks.”

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, an armorer at Rust, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter last month, but acquitted of evidence tampering. A sentencing date has not yet been set for her, but she faces 18 months in prison.

In contrast to Gutierrez-Reed's trial outcome, members of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins' family expressed satisfaction with the verdict. Despite the ongoing legal battles, Rust production resumed and concluded filming in Montana last year.

Internet slams Alec Baldwin over claims he had 'no concern' for staff around him

Alec Baldwin's involvement in the Rust shooting case continues to polarize online discussion, with users expressing a variety of views.

One user wrote, "He has always been a narcissist" while another user wrote, "The only people who are on Baldwin’s side are his insurance company, liberals and so called artists.”

Another user's comment defends the actions of "artists" who are familiar with industry protocols and place responsibility on the armorer for the incident saying, "The "artists" being the ones who do these jobs for a living, know the protocol, and know the armorer is the one that caused this."

The other user commented, "Baldwin is accountable. His insurance is going to take the hit and he’ll likely get hit with an involuntary manslaughter charge. "
