Yet, just before her announcement, Scobie, renowned for his association with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, posted a mysterious tweet displaying an image of an alarm clock set for 6 pm GMT, the time of Middleton's announcement.

The tweet deletion came as Middleton disclosed her journey, explaining her initial belief of a non-cancerous condition following abdominal surgery in January. However, subsequent tests unveiled the grim reality, leading her into preventive chemotherapy since late February.

Speculations surrounding Middleton's health had brewed for weeks following her surgery, escalating when a photoshopped image of her with her children circulated on UK Mother's Day, an act she later apologized for.

Scobie recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to provide a rationale for his deleted tweet featuring the alarm clock, asserting that he took it down "to stop any speculation taking place underneath it." He expressed his dismay at the tweet being construed as a "sick 'countdown'" by certain media organizations.

Scobie's proximity to the royal family, coupled with his controversial coverage, has often placed him under scrutiny. Notably, in a Dutch translation of his book, he inadvertently implicated Middleton and Prince Charles as "royal racists," a claim he later retracted.
