WASHINGTON, DC: Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi believes there has to be a reason behind Donald Trump's refusal to criticize Russian President Vladimir Putin, as per HuffPost.

In an interview on MSNBC's 'Inside with Jen Psaki' on Monday, February 19, the California lawmaker frustratingly asked, "What does he have on Donald Trump that he has to constantly be catering to Putin?" before weighing in on the ex-POTUS' conduct in connection to NATO.

Subsequently, the host queried the Democratic Congresswoman's theory on what Putin has on the former president, calling Trump his "fanboy."

Pelosi responded, "I don't know what he has on him, but I think it's probably financial. Or something on the come ― something that he expects to get," as she termed Putin as one of "the most evil people in the world."

The GOP frontrunner consistently refrains from criticizing Putin, a stance he maintained even while responding to the death of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny.

While all the major world leaders, including President Joe Biden, pointed fingers at Putin, the 45th US president did not even mention the Russian President's name while making remarks about Navalny, who died on February 16 at the Arctic penal colony where he was imprisoned.

Nancy Pelosi says Donald Trump brought disgrace to the White House

During the interview, Pelosi slammed Trump's presidency, saying, "We must be sure that he does not step one foot into the White House, not as President or not as anything. He has brought disgrace to the White House, to these presidents."

The California Rep further noted that Trump "didn't consider his oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution."

She labeled Trump a "person without values" over his response to Navalny's death. According to Pelosi, Trump's comparison of the Russian opposition leader's death to his legal struggles was "beneath the dignity of a human being."

Internet reacts to Nancy Pelosi's theory of why Donald Trump maintains allegiance toward Vladimir Putin

Netizens pointed to the possibility of many things when Pelosi claimed Putin might have some "financial" leverage over Trump.

One wrote, "I think it’s a multitude of things," and another noted, "She's right. And they both agree on their hatred of our constitution, our congress, and our country."

A person remarked, "Oh, I don't think it's financial, I think it's a lot worse." Someone else opined, "You flatter Trump by suggesting Putin "has something" on him. It's simpler than that. Trump loves a dictator."

"Whatever Putin has on Trump & characters like Lindsey Graham must be career-destroying. I don't think Trump's the only one on whom Putin has kompromat," chimed in an individual.
