Jason Kelce recalls 'surreal' encounter with Prince William at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour as he praises 'down-to-earth' royal

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Retired NFL star Jason Kelce reflected on a recent highlight while attending the 35th Annual American Century Championship. 

To provide some context, during Taylor Swift's recent Eras Tour in London, Jason attended the concert for the first time and had the opportunity to meet Prince William and his children.

He shared a few details about his surreal interaction with the royal family, as per People.

Jason Kelce is reminiscing about his encounter with royalty. While preparing for the 35th Annual American Century Championship this weekend, the 13-year NFL veteran reflected on meeting Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium last month.

Kelce told People, "It was a nice interaction. They were very down-to-earth, and it felt surreal to be in their presence." 

The meet-and-greet on Friday, June 21, left a lasting impression on the former Philadelphia Eagles center and his brother, Travis, who noted their admiration for the family, Prince William’s parenting style, and Princess Charlotte’s personality.

In an episode of their podcast, 'New Heights' with Jason and Travis Kelce, the brothers reminisced about the memorable moment when William took his two eldest children to the concert on his 42nd birthday and they all snapped a selfie with Travis and Taylor Swift. "I don't know. Maybe it's because I have three girls now. She had fire to her." 

Jason said about Princess Charlotte, 9. "She was asking questions. That was the most electric part." Jason, who has daughters Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 1, with wife Kylie Kelce, noted how impressive it was. Travis agreed, expressing his admiration for how the Prince of Wales engaged with his kids that night. "I love it when parents ask their kids to be present, be vocal," Travis shared. 

Jason added, "They encourage them to take the lead in a conversation," which Travis described as "such a good parent move." He further praised Prince William's parenting, saying, "If anyone’s doing it right, Prince William's doing it right. So thank you, Your Royal Highness. It was awesome meeting you, and Charlotte and George."
