NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former Texas Congresswoman Mayra Flores appeared on the Sunday, March 17 episode of 'Fox & Friends' with co-host Rachel Campos to discuss the reasons for former President Donald Trump to lead in a recent poll among Hispanic voters.

Conducted by the New York Times and Siena College between February 25 and February 28, the poll revealed Trump's support among the group to be 46%, while the incumbent Joe Biden trailed at 40%.

Struggle under Bidenomics

When asked about the reason behind Trump's 6-point lead, Flores told Campos, "I'm spending time with the community every single day, and every day it's about the economy. They're struggling tremendously living from paycheck to paycheck."

"Bidenomics (is) costing the average American about a thousand dollars every single month. That's $12,000 a year, and they're having to get a second job just to barely make it," she continued.

"So it's very difficult for them to vote for Biden when he promised them a strong economy, bringing better jobs to their community, and that's not what's happening. Of course, the border situation has gotten out of hand, that is also there ... But mainly what I hear about every single American is the economy."

"They are just not able to provide to their children, their families what they were able to provide three and half years ago. And they want that economy back ... they want more money in their pockets," she added.

Pro-choice in education

"South Texas is very pro-choice when it comes to education," shared Flores, highlighting another reason for the waning popularity of the incumbent President.

"They want to be able to have the right to decide what is the best education for their children. A lot of South Texan Democrats do not support school choice, yet they have their children in private schools. But they don't want our children to have that option."

"The money should follow the child, that is why I support school choice. That should be key to everyone. We want better education for our children ... so every parent should have that choice," she stated.
