'Don't do it': JD Vance trolled after he claims Donald Trump has not offered him running mate position
COLUMBUS, OHIO: Senator JD Vance (R-Ohio) has stated that there has been no indication from former president Donald Trump regarding his candidacy as a running mate for the upcoming presidential election.
Despite recent speculation surrounding his potential candidacy for the role, the 2024 presumptive GOP nominee has not yet revealed his plans to run alongside Vance, according to The Hill.
What did JD Vance say regarding his chances of becoming the next US Vice President?
Senator JD Vance told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham on Thursday, “I’ve never actually spoken to the president about VP speculation. My simple answer is, I wanna help him however I can. If he asks me, of course, I would think seriously about it. It would be a great honor.”
“I’m also happy to support the agenda in the United States Senate, and regardless, Laura, you have to remember, my job is to serve the people of Ohio. Whether it’s supporting Trump’s agenda in the Senate, or serving in some other role,” he claimed.

While the 77-year-old MAGA strongman has not yet named his running mate, Vance has cemented his place as one of the former president's closest allies and is allegedly on the possible Vice President shortlist.
In any case, the Buckeye State senator declared on Thursday, April 11, 2024, that he would continue to advocate for increased manufacturing employment and "good prosperity to the people of Ohio and the heartland" if he was indeed nominated.

Growing up in a middle-class community in Ohio with a history of manufacturing jobs, Vance worked as a venture capitalist for a firm before becoming well-known for his best-selling book "Hillbilly Elegy."
Vance declared himself "never Trump" before the 2016 election, but since assuming office in 2023, he has become one of the former president's staunchest supporters.

“For 40 years, we had a bipartisan consensus to ship jobs overseas, to bring unchecked migration. Trump’s stopped that,” Vance contended. “And the real question for the Republican Party is whether we follow that lead and double down on that winning agenda, or do we try to go back to the old ways?” he asked.
“Unfortunately, Laura, as you know as well as I do, there is a critical component of the old guard, the Republican Party, that wants to go back to the old ways — more immigration, more war, less than wages for American workers,” Vance remarked, before adding. “Thank God Trump is there to push back against it.”
Trump is reportedly considering additional candidates, including Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) and Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY).
