LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston relived their ‘Friends’ days as they sat down for Variety's 'Actors on Actors’, which was released on Wednesday, June 3.
The two stars also said during the conversation that they would love to be part of a new sitcom centered around them and their pal, Courteney Cox.
Lisa Kudrow did not watch 'Friends' earlier because it 'felt embarrassing' to her
Aniston began the conversation around Kudrow not watching ‘Friends’ earlier as the latter said, “Because it felt embarrassing to me.”
But now, since ‘The Comeback’ star has watched it, she has gone on to appreciate herself as well as the other leading characters. “Man, you’re all good. Holy cow! You were really good, Jennifer. It’s such a ridiculous thing to say to people! Like, of course,” she stated.
Lisa Kudrow says she can do another sitcom with her 'Friends' co-stars
Agreeing with Kudrow, Aniston then mentioned, “That was such lightning in a bottle, the chemistry of all of us. And the writers played off of us and our relationships, which were truly genuine. It was so great. We had a life at the same time.”
To which, the 62-year-old actress immediately responded, “I would love to do another one, if anyone wrote a good one. Let’s do it. You heard it here!”
‘The Morning Show’ star could not contain her excitement as she asked Kudrow, “Oh, wow. What’s it going to be?”
“Can we do you, me and Courteney? What would that be?” she replied as Aniston added: “Girlfriends. Let’s pitch it. Let’s workshop it in front of all of these wonderful people.”
Jennifer Aniston talks about ex-husband Brad Pitt's cameo in 'Friends'
Elsewhere during the conversation, the two A-list ladies also talked about celebrity cameos in ‘Friends’ when Kudrow mentioned Aniston’s ex-husband, Brad Pitt.
“When Brad was on, that was hilarious,” Kudrow said, before Aniston added, “I know. How funny. The movie stars that came on ‘Friends.’ Brad, Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts. Isabella Rossellini. We had so many — Sean Penn. They were always nervous. Remember? I always found it fascinating how nervous they were.”
“Yes. Nervous. Well, because what’s the tone? It’s not theater; it’s for TV. It’s not a movie. What the hell is this? And it’s a good question. And I remember someone asked one time. I didn’t know how to explain it, so I said, ‘Oh, just talk louder. Same intention, just —,’” Kudrow disclosed.
The 62-year-old A-list actor married Aniston when he appeared on an episode of ‘Friends’ in 2001. He played the role of Will Colbert, who was a high school friend of Ross Geller.
