Jennifer Aniston hopes escape from LA to $15M Montecito mansion will help her find love again
MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Aniston who has spent years tailoring her six properties to her distinct, chic style, has recently taken on her biggest project yet - a stunning $14.8 million Tuscan-style farmhouse in Montecito, California.
Aniston has reportedly lived in her Beverly Hills mansion (2001-2006); Malibu beach house (2005-2007), Ohana hillside residence (2006-2011), Sunset Boulevard rental (2011), New York City condo (2011-2012); and Bel Air mansion (2012-present) before purchasing the Montecito Home from Oprah Winfrey, as per Architectural Digest.
Jennifer Aniston's fresh start in the hope for love again
The 'Friends' star's four-bedroom retreat, which she purchased two years ago, is a sanctuary in the making, complete with a newly added pool and plenty of personal touches.
“She feels like it’s time to move on,” an insider tells Life & Style. “She’s ready for a change and a new chapter.”
This shift isn’t just about swapping zip codes; it’s about creating space for something — or someone — new. After a string of high-profile heartbreaks, including her marriages to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux, Aniston is setting her sights on a fresh start that goes beyond property lines.
“She’s hopeful that a fresh start might make it easier for her to find love again,” said the insider. “It’s been so long since she’s had a relationship — she really misses that companionship.”
It's no secret that if Aniston weren’t gracing our screens, she’d be picking out paint swatches. “I love that process,” she once shared, according to reports.
“There’s something about picking out fabrics and finishes that feeds my soul," she said, reflecting her passion for turning her homes into reflections of her journey, filled with meaning and memories.
Inside Jennifer Aniston’s luxe real estate mansions and 'babe cave'
In her early days with Brad Pitt, Aniston shared a $13.1 million French Normandy-style mansion in Beverly Hills, a 12,000 sq ft home originally built in 1934.
In 2006, she purchased the Ohana hillside residence, a 10,000 sq ft home designed by Harold W Levitt, which she transformed into a Balinese-style retreat complete with heated floors, Brazilian cumaru eaves, and koi ponds; she sold it for $38 million in 2011.
That same year, she rented a 1,761 sq ft home on Sunset Boulevard for $20,000 a month, featuring vaulted ceilings and marble countertops.
In 2011, she also bought two condos in New York City’s West Village for $7.01 million, intending to combine them into a larger unit, but sold at a $6.5 million loss, according to Elle Decor.
Since 2012, Aniston has owned an 8,500 sq ft Bel Air mansion designed by A Quincy Jones, which she renovated with Stephen Shadley; she shared this home with her ex-husband Justin Theroux.
Reportedly, Aniston also highlighted that while her first marital home felt more like a museum, her Bel Air abode became a "babe cave" post-Theroux, where she famously lightened the mood, literally and figuratively.
“Welcome to the babe cave,” she joked about a cottage that was once Justin’s office. After his departure, she remarked, “I lightened it up, stripped it all. He came over and was like, ‘What the f**k did you do?’ I said, ‘I brought the light back in, buddy.’”
Jennifer Aniston’s embraces tranquility as she moves to Montecito
The 'Morning Show' alum's move to Montecito is as much about embracing a tranquil lifestyle as it is about leaving behind the hustle of Los Angeles.
“Jen loves the lifestyle,” said a source close to the actress. “She can go to the beach without getting bothered or run to the shops. The air is so fresh and clean — she says it smells like flowers all the time.”
The area’s allure isn’t lost on her; with neighbors like Rob Lowe and even the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Montecito offers a blend of privacy and low-key social scenes.
As she settles into her new home, Aniston is focused on the things that truly matter. Worth a reported $300 million, she has long left the pressure of proving herself in the rearview mirror. The only thing missing? A new romance that’s as uncomplicated as her Montecito lifestyle.
“She doesn’t need a flashy A-list star or someone super wealthy. She wants a man she can trust, someone she can laugh and feel safe with. Someone who makes her happy,” added the insider.
