LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Garner’s relationship with her boyfriend, John Miller, is reportedly facing some challenges due to her increasingly close connection with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck.

A source close to the situation revealed to Page Six that Miller is "not thrilled" about the way the former couple has been spending more time together, especially during family holidays.

While Garner and Affleck, both 52, have always maintained a strong co-parenting bond, their friendship has intensified recently.

The source revealed that Miller “knows Ben and Jen have been leaning on each other more than ever lately and have a really close relationship.” The growing closeness is leaving Miller feeling like an outsider, “Their growing bond is getting to be a bit much when Ben spends all the holidays with them like Christmas and Thanksgiving.”

The insider added, “John feels like a third wheel.”

A source says that the former couple, both 52, have been talking more than ever - constant texts, calls, and check-ins, way more than in recent years saying. They said, "It used to be solely about the kids, but John feels like it could be more than just about their coparenting relationship."

John isn't worried that Garner and Affleck might reconcile romantically but acknowledges that the closeness between the exes has him feeling uneasy.

“He doesn’t feel threatened in terms of Jen ever getting back with Ben, but at the same time it’s hard not to feel jealous when it’s clear they have a strong connection and friendship,” the insider added.

Miller, 47, and Garner have had an on-again, off-again relationship since 2018. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez and Affleck, who were married for a decade before splitting in 2015, continue to co-parent their three kids, Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 12.

According to the Daily Mail, the 52-year-old actress was seen driving through Hollywood over the weekend, her diamond-adorned ring finger drawing immediate attention. The dazzling gem was accompanied by a slender gold band, further fueling speculation that the actress may be preparing to walk down the aisle.

Speculation about Jennifer Garner and John Miller’s engagement started swirling in October 2024 after a source claimed the two were planning a romantic wedding in Paris. According to In Touch Weekly, Garner even flew to the city to shop for a wedding dress. The insider also revealed that the couple had been sneaking off to Europe more often than anyone realized.

“Jen and John have taken a lot more trips to Europe than people realize. Paris is one of their favorite escapes and they’ve decided getting married there this coming spring is something they want to do,” the source said.

An insider hinted that Garner’s rumored wedding will be nothing like her quiet 2005 one with Ben Affleck in Turks and Caicos. 

"This time around she wants a big wedding in a dream location and John is all for it," the source told In Touch Weekly.

"He loves the idea of giving her something that Ben never did, so he’s totally encouraging her to go all out. He’s got plenty of money and wants to totally spoil her,” they added.
