WASHINGTON, DC: On Monday's episode of 'The Five' on Fox News, Jesse Watters repeatedly interrupted co-host Jessica Tarlov when she brought up the recent surge in Vice President Kamala Harris's poll numbers.

Last week, Fox News surveys revealed that Harris is now tied with former president Donald Trump in several key swing states.

Kamala Harris's rising popularity shakes up election dynamics as Joe Biden withdraws

Kamala Harris's upward trajectory has been notable since President Joe Biden announced he would not seek reelection. This announcement followed significant pressure on Biden after a disastrous debate performance against Trump.

With Biden’s withdrawal, Harris, at 59, has emerged as the likely Democratic nominee, disrupting the Trump campaign’s strategy of targeting Biden’s age and cognitive abilities. Biden is 81, while Trump is 78.

During the show, the panel discussed the Democrats' strategy of portraying the Republican ticket negatively, particularly after Trump’s selection of Senator JD Vance (R-OH) as his vice-presidential running mate.

Vance has faced criticism for controversial remarks about “childless cat ladies” leading the Democratic Party and his suggestion that parents should get extra votes for each child. Additionally, he implied that drinking Diet Mountain Dew might make him appear “racist.”

Tarlov mentioned, “You listen to these rallies where he’s talking about sharks getting electrocuted.”

Watters interjected with a dismissive comment, leading Tarlov to add, “If you are not a die-hard Trump supporter, the 'late great Hannibal Lecter' doesn’t resonate in the same way. The sharks, the weird stuff about batteries. Like, Donald Trump is not a normal human, and I guess it’s only Jesse that is normal in all of this.”

Dana Perino chimed in, “Should we pull up the tapes of Kamala Harris and...”

Tarlov responded, “But you can play that game...”

Perino continued, “I just think that....”

Watters interrupted with, “You wanna talk batteries? I mean, you guys spent $10 trillion, you installed eight. That’s weird.”

Jesse Watters and Jessica Tarlov clash over Kamala Harris's rising poll numbers

Jessica Tarlov attempted to steer the conversation back to Kamala Harris, saying, “What I wanna talk about is that whatever the strategy is now, it is working. So, Kamala Harris is now running either tied or ahead in national polling, same in the swing states. Her favorability, not just up eight points, it’s up 12 points.”

Watters again interjected, “Oh, she’s...”

Tarlov continued, “While Donald Trump has gone down five.”

Watters cut her off, “She’s the...”

Tarlov told him, “Don’t do it!”

Watters responded with, “—next Obama. She’s gonna win. I’m so worried. I’m so nervous.”

Tarlov added, “Democratic enthusiasm is up 26 points.”

Perino remarked, “Oh my gosh.”

Tarlov asked, “Why are you saying, 'Oh my gosh'?”

Perino clarified, “Because, I’m like, we have to tease [the next segment].”

Watters exaggerated, “She’s gonna win. Oh my God.”

Perino reiterated, “Yeah, ’cause we have to tease'.”

Watters concluded with, “Kamala Harris, the next Barack Obama. It’s a cultural phenomenon.”

Tarlov protested, “That’s not.”

Turning to Biran Kilmeade, Watters ended the discussion with, “How do we stop her, Brian?”
