Jimmy Carter's daughter Amy tearfully shares his 75-year-old love letter to beautiful wife Rosalynn
PLAINS, GEORGIA: As the nation bids farewell to former president Jimmy Carter at his state funeral on Thursday, January 9, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden offered the glimpse of the former presidents remarkable love story.
They shared a heartfelt tribute, a 75-year-old love letter from Carter to his wife Rosalynn Carter which was read by their daughter Amy through tears.

“My mom spent most of her life in love with my dad,” Amy began her voiceover for the video which shows paintings of Jimmy and Rosalynn hung next to each other.
“This is from a letter he wrote 75 years ago," the video narration by Amy declared.
Joe Biden and First Lady Jill, who shared the letter via a joint Instagram video, wrote, "Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter had a love story for the ages."
"We miss them both dearly, but take comfort knowing they are reunited once again. To the entire Carter family, thank you for sharing them with America and the world," they wrote.

Amy Carter read the excerpts from her fathers letter to his wife Rosalynn, saying, “My darling, every time I have ever been away from you, I have been thrilled when I returned to discover just how wonderful you are."
"While I’m away I try to convince myself that you really are not, could not be, as sweet and beautiful as I remember," Carter's daughter read further.
“But when I see you," the letter continued adding, "I fall in love with you all over again.”
Jimmy and Rosalynn wed on July 7, 1946, and were married for 77 years until her death at the age of 96 in 2023, making their marriage the longest in the history of US presidents.
The pair met when Jimmy was three years old and Rosalynn was a newborn and went on to have four children, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, People noted.
