More on Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara
The news of Manganiello and O’Connor moving in together comes just a week after Vergara and the 'True Blood' actor finalized their divorce amicably.
According to TMZ, the former couple adhered to the terms of their prenuptial agreement, which enabled them to maintain ownership of the assets they individually acquired during their marriage.
In July 2023, they revealed that they had decided to part ways after seven years of marriage.
Manganiello and Vergara said in a joint statement during that time, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce.”
They added, “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara’s cause of divorce
During an interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais in January 2024, Vergara shared her reason for the divorce. She cited that while the ‘Magic Mike’ star wanted to be a father, she did not “want to be an old mom.”
She said, "My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom."
She continued, "I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore."
Vergara is a mother to her son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, whom she shares with her former husband Joe Gonzalez.
Vergara and Manganiello met in 2014 during the White House Correspondents Dinner and got engaged on Christmas Day 2014. They got married in November 2015.
After seven years of marriage, on July 19, Manganiello filed for divorce from Vergara. On February 9, the former couple finalized their divorce with PEOPLE reporting that both the parties "entered into a written agreement regarding their property and their marriage."
No spousal support was requested in the amicable divorce.
After filing the divorce, Vergara moved on with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman, with whom she was seen for the first time in October 2023.
