AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan is making it crystal clear where he stands when it comes to Elon Musk’s government shake-up.
On the latest episode of 'The Joe Rogan Experience', the controversial podcaster fiercely defended Musk, who has been making waves with his newly anointed role in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—a temporary organization tasked with slashing federal spending under President Donald Trump’s administration.
And according to Rogan, anyone who’s mad about Musk’s unprecedented power grab is simply looking at it the wrong way.
Joe Rogan says Elon Musk is ‘hunting down’ corruption
During the now-viral episode, Joe Rogan scoffed at concerns that Elon Musk — the richest man in the world — has gained access to some of America’s most sensitive financial systems, including the Treasury Department’s payment network.
“He has $400 billion, he’s not going to steal your money. I’m telling you he’s not going to steal your money. I’m telling you, that’s not what he’s doing,” Rogan said in a minute-long clip that went viral. Musk — who owns X (formerly Twitter) — eagerly shared the video with the caption, “The party is just getting started.”

“He’s a super genius that’s been f—ed with. And when you’ve been f—ed with by these nitwits that hide behind 3-letter agencies and you’re dealing with one of the smartest people alive and he helps Donald Trump get into office and he goes, ‘I want to find out what kind of corruption is really around,’” Rogan continued.
“You f—ed up and picked the wrong psychopath on the spectrum,” the comedian said, laughing.
Clearly amused by Musk’s approach, Rogan went on to praise his ability to dismantle Washington’s "corrupt" institutions.

“He’s gonna hunt you down, he’s going to find out what’s going on and that’s good. That’s good for everybody,” the UFC commentator declared. “That’s how you should be looking at this, like ‘Wow, we have a brilliant mind that is examining these really f—ing corrupt and goofy systems and bringing in a bunch of psychopath wizards.’”
Elon Musk and DOGE’s aggressive cuts
Elon Musk’s role as a “special government employee” has been nothing short of controversial. Despite DOGE not being an official government department, President Donald Trump has given the billionaire full authority to eliminate wasteful spending, fraud, and inefficiency—all without congressional approval.

Some of Musk’s most headline-grabbing budget cuts so far include axing 89 federal education contracts worth $881 million and slashing 29 DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs totaling $101 million.
The new department is also dismantling the US Agency for International Development (USAID), canceling a museum exhibit dedicated to former COVID czar Anthony Fauci, and ending costly government news subscriptions.
And according to reports, DOGE’s next targets include the Pentagon and Social Security fraud investigations.
Internet divided on Elon Musk's approach
Despite Joe Rogan’s glowing praise, not everyone is thrilled about Elon Musk’s newfound power. Critics argue that Musk, a private citizen who wasn’t elected, is now dismantling entire agencies and firing thousands of government workers with no oversight from Congress.
Some critics on X were blunt in their skepticism.
"Ah yes. As history shows- rich ppl always do the right thing bc they’re already rich!" one social media user posted.
"People who think Musk doesn't need or want more money are ret**ded. He is going for a trillion dollars. And MAGA chucklef**ks are going to clap their hands as Elon Musk robs them blind," another insisted.

Others, however, defended Musk’s approach and argued that the government’s wasteful spending needed to be addressed.
"Simple logic. How much of my money has Elon extorted from me? How much of my money has the federal government extorted from me?" someone asked.
"If you think Musk is after your money you're looking at the wrong man he's after corruption," read a comment.
"I trust Elon far more than our government," another declared.

It's worth noting that federal judges have already halted some of DOGE’s more drastic actions, but Musk isn’t slowing down.
On Tuesday, Trump invited Musk to the Oval Office and directed DOGE to fire non-essential federal workers and shut down entire agencies deemed unnecessary.
An executive order previewed by the New York Post confirmed that Musk has been granted even more authority—with one major exception: DOGE cannot cut funding for national security, public safety, law enforcement, or immigration enforcement.
