NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Comedian Jon Stewart shared his thoughts on former president Donald Trump’s recent interview with Elon Musk.

The former late-night host reflected on Trump’s coherence during the interview and suggested that the 78-year-old politician might be showing signs of decline similar to those attributed to Joe Biden.

Why does Jon Stewart say Donald Trump is becoming like Joe Biden?

Reflecting on the interview, Jon Stewart described it as “two old dudes in a basement talking about how hot each other is” and confessed that he was “f***ing bored.”

However, the conversation led him to a realization about Trump’s current state.

“I’ll tell you what I think is happening, to be perfectly honest. I think he is, before our eyes, becoming Biden in this race," Stewart said

“The whole idea was that performance by Biden in the debate was so shocking to the system of functionality, where you watched a guy and you go like, ‘Oh s**t,’ like this is a real decline in a way that we had not anticipated," Stewart elaborated, per, Daily Beast.

He continued to draw parallels between Biden's perceived decline and Trump's current state, “but it obscured what is clearly going on with Trump as well,” Stewart said, noting that Trump’s incoherence has become more pronounced now that Vice President Kamala Harris is his opponent.

Donald Trump’s interview with Elon Musk sparked concerns

During the interview with Elon Musk, Donald Trump’s speech was notably slurred, and at times, it sounded as though he was speaking with a lisp.

“When you remove [Biden’s decline] from the equation, you’re just left with a much more stark focus on what [Trump’s] decline is," said Stewart.

"And then you listen to those Twitter spaces. And again, like [Trump’s] always been a bit rambly, but holy f**k,” Stewart remarked.

A Trump campaign spokesperson responded to the concerns raised about the former president's voice during the interview by telling the Daily Beast that the odd sound “must be your ears.”

Trump later addressed the issue himself, acknowledging the “strange” sound, and blamed it on technical difficulties.

Joe Biden rips Donald Trump calling him 'Donald Dump or Donald whatever'

On his first official appearance with Kamala Harris since dropping out from the presidential race, Joe Biden criticized the Republican Party, for their lack of support for the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, which authorized Medicare to negotiate prescription drug costs as per The Guardian.

He credited the bill for the price reductions announced at the event and took a jab at Trump by feigning forgetfulness of his name.

“We finally beat big pharma, and, I might add, with no help from Republicans. Not a single Republican vote for this bill, period, not one in the entire Congress,” Biden stated.

He went on to suggest that the reason GOP lawmakers did not support the bill was because of “the guy we’re running against”.

“What’s his name? Donald Dump or Donald, whatever, they want to get rid of this, what we passed," Biden remarked.
