Kanye West and Kim Kardashian lock horns over rapper's new song featuring their daughter North and Diddy

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: Kanye West has once again found himself at the center of controversy—this time involving his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, their eldest daughter North West, and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The heated dispute erupted after Kanye West, now known as Ye, shared a new track titled 'Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine' on X (formerly Twitter) on March 16.
Kim Kardashian’s legal battle with Kanye West to protect daughter North
The song not only features what sounds like Diddy’s voice but also includes a verse from Kanye’s 11-year-old daughter North West—a move that has left 'The Kardashians' star furious.

According to TMZ, Kardashian took swift legal action in an attempt to block the song’s release and is now actively working to have it removed from X.
In a since-deleted tweet, Kanye posted a screenshot of an alleged text conversation with his ex-wife, in which tensions reached a boiling point.

The rapper accused Kardashian of trademarking their eldest daughter North’s name without his consent, which Kardashian quickly shut down.
"I'm never speaking with you again," West allegedly wrote, along with a screenshot of what appeared to be a legal document with the phrase, "Participation in this project," seemingly about the new song.
“I asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18, it goes to her. So stop,” Kardashian replied.

The SKIMS founder also revealed she had taken steps to prevent North’s involvement in the song.
“I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her,” Kardashian explained. “One person has to trademark! We agreed when they were born i would get all of our kids names and trademarks So no would else would take them.”
Kanye’s fiery response left little room for peace talks. “Amend it or I’m going to war,” he warned. “And neither of us will recover from the public fallout.”
In a chilling final text, he added, “You’re going to have to kill me.”

Sources told Daily Mail that Kardashian had attempted to resolve the issue through emergency mediation with a judge, an attempt Kanye allegedly ignored.
Despite this, insiders claim Kanye reportedly promised not to release the song. However, the track still surfaced on social media, featuring North rapping the line, “When you see me shining, then you see the light.”

The song reportedly came about after North spent time in the studio with her father, marking the first visit Kanye had with his children in weeks.
Kanye West’s support for Sean Diddy
The track’s release further fuels controversy, given Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles.
Currently facing federal charges, including trafficking, Diddy, who is behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, is awaiting trial.

In the new song, Kanye reportedly refers to Diddy as a father figure, crediting him with support even before they knew each other personally.
As per Page Six, Kanye has been outspoken in defending Diddy, recently posting on X: “FREE PUFF.”
In another emotional post, Kanye wrote, “ALL THESE CELEBRITY N—-S AND B***HES IS P—Y YALL A WATCH OUR BROTHER ROT AND NEVER SAY S–T.”
He also shared a FaceTime video featuring Diddy’s son Christian “King” Combs, 26, smiling and chatting with Kanye. The caption underscored Kanye’s frustration with what he sees as unjust treatment of Black families.

“… FOR EVERY SON WHO DAD IS LOCKED UP WRITE [sic] OR WRONG I WANT YALL TO LISTEN TO DAVE CHAPELLE’S JOKES VERY CLOSE THIS TIME,” he wrote.
While Kanye continues to push for Diddy’s release, Kim Kardashian has made it clear that her priority is protecting her children.
A source close to the reality star told Page Six, “Kim’s priority is the well-being and safety of her children and to protect them from being around Kanye’s controversial behavior.”
