WASHINGTON, DC: During the White House press briefing on March 17, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made a blunder, stating that President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice would prioritize “fighting law and order” instead of “fighting for law and order,” resulting in an awkward slip of the tongue.

Social media was quick to pounce on the gaffe, with users on Bluesky and X finding Leavitt’s slip particularly hilarious given that “fighting law and order” seems to be exactly what Trump’s administration is up to.

Trump declares Biden's pardons of Jan 6 Select Committee members 'void' in explosive post

Karoline Leavitt’s slip of the tongue came in response to a question from ABC News' senior political correspondent Rachel Scott, who inquired whether Trump intended for the DOJ to investigate members of the bipartisan January 6 Select Committee.

Former President Joe Biden had issued preemptive pardons to lawmakers involved in the Capitol riot investigation before leaving office.

In the early hours of March 17, Trump took to Truth Social with an explosive post: "The “Pardons” that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen."

Reportedly, he went on to accuse Biden of signing the pardons using an autopen, a mechanical device that replicates signatures, citing claims from the Oversight Project, a division of the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank known for its ties to Project 2025.

Trump didn’t stop there, insisting that Biden’s executive orders should be disregarded because the president “did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them.”

"The necessary Pardoning Documents were not explained to, or approved by, Biden. He knew nothing about them, and the people that did may have committed a crime," he wrote.

"Therefore, those on the Unselect Committee, who destroyed and deleted ALL evidence obtained during their two year Witch Hunt of me, and many other innocent people, should fully understand that they are subject to investigation at the highest level. The fact is, they were probably responsible for the Documents that were signed on their behalf without the knowledge or consent of the Worst President in the History of our Country, Crooked Joe Biden!" the post ended.
