Kayla Nicole addresses claims that Travis Kelce's stinginess led to their split

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kayla Nicole, the ex-girlfriend of NFL star Travis Kelce, has recently addressed persistent rumors suggesting that his alleged stinginess played a role in their breakup in 2022.

On the 'Unapologetically Angel' podcast, Nicole emphatically stated, “Do I look like anybody that would split anything?”

Travis Kelce and Kayla Nicole dated from 2017 until their breakup in May 2022. Following their split, Kelce has been linked to pop star Taylor Swift, with their relationship rumors gaining traction in summer 2023 and being confirmed in September.

The rumors that the couple shared expenses 50/50 were met with disbelief by Kayla Nicole, who described the notion as “ridiculous.”

When the podcast host, Angel Reese, asked her about the speculation, Nicole interrupted, saying, “No – this is the question. Do I look like I would go 50/50 on bills?” Reese quickly replied, “No,” leading Nicole to reinforce, “OK so yeah – that was ridiculous.”

Reese also noted that online chatter suggested Nicole ended her relationship with Kelce due to his supposed frugality. Nicole clarified, “Yeah, that was never an issue in our relationship but it was definitely a rumor on the internet.”

She recalled that Kelce had previously dismissed the “cheap” allegations back in January 2023. “He addressed that too though,” she remarked, adding, “I don’t even know why that even became a thing.”

In a past appearance on 'The Pivot' podcast, Travis Kelce labeled such rumors as “crazy” and urged listeners, “Don’t buy into that s**t!”

While Nicole dismissed the financial rumors about her relationship with Kelce, she encouraged women to do what feels right for them in their relationships. “To each his own,” she stated. “If people like to split their bills with their man I think that’s what you should do. I don’t do that.”

Kelce had mentioned in previous discussions that he would occasionally give Nicole “a couple dollars to grab some food,” and that she also “gave me some money” throughout their five-year romance.

Nicole's remarks come shortly after she commented on Kelce’s performance this football season, highlighting that he had experienced a “slow start.” In a video for I Am Athlete Daily, she questioned, “Been a slow start for the guy Travis Kelce — do you think that he’s going to get more than 58.5 receiving yards?”
