Kevin Costner’s pals fear he is ‘overdoing’ plastic surgery after seeing his ‘frozen face’, says source

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Costner’s back-to-back appearances in September have left some of his friends concerned. 

Recently, an insider revealed that the 69-year-old ‘Yellowstone’ actor’s close friends are considering intervening in Costner’s cosmetic procedure plans as they fear the actor is going overboard with Botox and plastic surgery. 

The source opened up about Costner's September 5 reunion with his ‘Bull Durham’ co-star Susan Sarandon, 77, in Italy, saying that people were allegedly whispering about Costner’s “frozen face".

Kevin Costner under pressure to 'look his best'

Referencing Kevin Costner's appearance with Susan Sarandon at the Better World Fund Gala in the Venice Film Festival, the insider spilled, "Everyone was whispering about how frozen his face looked," per RadarOnline.

"He's under a lot of pressure right now to look his best,” said the source before adding, “He's doing so many media appearances – not to mention he's on the prowl again and wants a much younger woman – so he's been a lot more critical of his aging face."

The concerns about Costner’s face surfaced after he had a turbulent time last year while fighting his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner in court for divorce. He also relinquished his role in ‘Yellowstone’ after five successful seasons. 

Christine filed for divorce on May 1, 2023 after 18 years of marriage. Their divorce was finally finalized in February this year. The couple share three children.

The insider further dished, "He's a bit sheepish about it,” before adding, "So instead of getting advice on what to get done, word is he's just gone to the surgeon and given the doctor carte blanche – and unfortunately, he’s come out looking very unnatural."

Moreover, the source added that the ‘Field of Dreams’ actor appeared "overly frozen" to those close to him, adding that he probably took refuge in a "load of Botox."

"It's kind of excessive as far as friends are concerned,” noted the insider, before admitting, "A few wrinkles were part of his appeal, so it's kind of disturbing to see him turning himself into this shiny waxwork.”

They further noted ironically that had the actor not gone through a break up, he probably wouldn’t have resorted to such procedures. 

"The ironic thing is if Christine was still in his life, she would have helped him achieve a much more natural-looking result. That’s something she takes a lot of pride in herself,” said the source.

Kevin Costner’s friends express concern over his skin due to extensive filming schedules

It was not only his appearance that allegedly concerned Kevin Costner’s friends. Previously, some other sources claimed to be concerned about the Oscar winner’s skin after he had spent hours under the harsh western sky filming movies. 

The source shared, per RadarOnline, "His face is spotty from all the suntanning and probably sunburning he’s been through, and his forehead has many fine lines that tell a similar story plus more unsightly creases around the eyes."

Moreover, another source shared, "His neck is the worst. A toad has better skin than Kevin. But he seems oblivious to the harm all those UV rays can do – and that could come back to bite him.”

"He needs to lather on the sunscreen and cover up properly or he’ll be sorry. Skin cancer is a serious subject,” said the concerned friend.
