Kevin Hart tries to distance himself from Diddy when asked about 'hosting' parties for jailed rapper
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Hart seemingly distanced himself from Sean "Diddy" Combs after being questioned about hosting parties for the music mogul who was arrested over sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
The actor met with questions about his connection to the disgraced rapper while going for dinner at LAVO restaurant in West Hollywood with his wife Eniko Hart last week, as per Daily Mail.
Diddy, who was arrested on September 16 at the Park Hyatt Hotel in New York City, is currently being detained at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center.
On Monday, September 30, his lawyers filed an appeal against the federal judge's decision to keep the rapper imprisoned until trial. His earlier bail pleas were denied despite a collateral bond of his and his mother's home worth $50 million.
Kevin Hart denies hosting parties for Sean 'Diddy' Combs
Before he arrived at the restaurant, Hart was asked whether he had seen the baby oil bottles at Sean "Diddy" Combs' home when he "hosted parties" for the currently incarcerated singer.
The 'Jumanji' actor immediately denied hosting any of Diddy's infamous parties, responded, "When I hosted for Diddy? You're asking the wrong person the wrong question."
Earlier this year, federal agents raided Diddy's Miami and Los Angeles homes and confiscated around 1,000 bottles of baby oil, three AR-15 rifles, and drugs, among other things.
Hart also gave an aloof response when asked about the rapper's safety in jail. "Wrong person, wrong question," replied the comedian before leaving with his wife and bodyguard.
Videos of Kevin Hart partying with Sean 'Diddy' Combs resurfaces
Kevin Hart's attempt to distance himself from Sean "Diddy" Combs comes as videos showing him at one of the music mogul's 2010 parties resurfaced online.
In one clip, which went viral on X (formerly Twitter), the comedian was seen speaking on a microphone in a candle-lit bathroom. At one point, a woman's hair caught fire while sitting inside the bathtub, making Hart laugh out loud.
One more video showed Hart interviewing Diddy and Usher.
In September, the 45-year-old actor shut down his vegan fast-food restaurant chain, Hart House, which led many to link the closure to Diddy's arrest.
He shared a farewell message on Instagram, writing, "Thank You. A Hartfelt goodbye for now as we start a new chapter."
