King Charles open to truce with Prince Harry after receiving 'spiritual nourishment' from religious heads
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: King Charles has received "spiritual nourishment" from religious leaders who have inspired him to consider repairing his relationship with his younger son, Prince Harry, as per Daily Mail.
Insiders noted that the spiritual leaders had previously helped Charles cope with the death of his parents and adjust to his new role.
Now, they are directing him toward the tenets of forgiveness, which has inspired him to reapproach his relationship with Harry, who moved to Montecito, California, in 2020, and lives there with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children - Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Faith has become a comfort for King Charles
A source shared, "Faith has always been a part of Charles’ life and something he has explored, but since becoming king it is playing a more central role. That reliance on faith and quiet contemplation has become a comfort and an asset to him and helps him cope as he adjusts to being king."
King Charles, in general, is a religious man and a regular churchgoer. The septuagenarian monarch also had a high standing among all the religions in a diverse Britain.
As the head of the Church of England, the king is regarded as "the defender of faith." However, Charles also enjoys respect from the spiritual leaders of other religions.
With love and forgiveness being the central tenet of most religions, the rumored development can ultimately pave the way for a reconciliation between the estranged father and son.
The chasm between the duo came to the fore when Prince Harry stepped down as a working member of the royal family in 2020 followed by an implosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, where he and Meghan claimed two members of the royal family made derogatory remarks about the skin color of their son Archie.
In his 2023 memoir 'Spare', Prince Harry famously called Queen Camilla his "evil stepmother" and "the other woman."
King Charles 'misses' the bond he once shared with Prince Harry
While a spirituality-induced reconciliation may be on the cards, some other sources further highlighted that a very basic emotional connection may also facilitate the reconciliation.
An insider claimed, per Daily Mail, "Charles misses his son. He still loves Harry and wants him back for personal reasons, regardless of him and Meghan not wanting to return to royal life."
They added, "Harry will always be Charles’ most beloved son. He has faith that Harry can return."
"He misses the bond they once had, and the door will always remain open for him and his family. He does not want years of discord and disharmony to tarnish his reign," dished the source.
It has been reported that in recent days, Harry’s letters and phone calls to Charles have gone unanswered. While Harry did receive a half an hour audience with Charles earlier this year in February when the monarch was diagnosed with cancer, their relationship has allegedly deteriorated since then.
However, with the intervention of spirituality, it can be expected that the estranged father and son can finally reconcile.
