'King Swiftie' Flavor Flav hailed as he plans to attend many of Taylor Swift's upcoming Eras Tour shows
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Flavor Flav, a longtime Swiftie, has spoken out about his dedication to attending as many Taylor Swift concerts as possible. The pop star has been making headlines for her record-breaking Eras Tour, which has seen fans flocking to venues worldwide.
Swift is set to resume her tour next month, kicking off with three shows in Miami, Florida, starting on October 18. Following her Miami dates, she will perform in New Orleans before heading to Indianapolis in early November. The tour will then continue in Canada, with several shows in Toronto that month, concluding with three performances in Vancouver in December.
Flavor Flav wants to attend as many Taylor Swift concerts as he can
The longtime Taylor Swift fan and 'Public Enemy' rapper, 65, has attended numerous concerts on the Eras Tour, even receiving a shout-out from Swift during her performance at Volksparkstadion in Hamburg, Germany, on July 23. This earned him the nickname "King Swiftie" among her fans.
While speaking to People at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas on September 21, he revealed that he's not finished with the pop superstar's current tour, expressing his intention to attend “as many as I can” of her upcoming shows.
“I know I'm going to one of them in Florida,” Flavor Flav shared. “After that, I don't know, as many as I could go to. As many as I can, as many as my schedule will permit me to go to, at least.”
He has previously attended Swift's Eras Tour stop in Detroit at Ford Field on June 9, 2023, and her Los Angeles show at SoFi Stadium in August 2023, as well as the premiere of 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour' on October 11, 2023.
The two even chatted at the 2024 Grammys in February, where Flav later told the Los Angeles Times that he finally got some “Taylor time” at the awards show after attending her concerts the previous year.
“The discussion [at the event] was about me congratulating her on all her success. And me being a big fan of hers, a big supporter of hers,” he said, adding that Swift acknowledged his "King Swiftie" title.
Recently, Flav also showed his support for another star, gifting US gymnast Jordan Chiles a custom bronze clock necklace at the MTV VMAs 2024 on September 11. He created the clock for Chiles after she was stripped of her bronze medal following the gymnastics floor exercise final at the Paris Olympics in August.
While he has given these clocks to many people over the years, he kept his next recipient a secret. “I can’t say yet,” he told PEOPLE when asked who would receive the next timepiece. “I don't just give them away to nobody, you know what I'm saying? You got to be real special in order to get this.” He added, “I like to keep my clocks exclusive.”
